-Barry Season 4 Episode 3 Recap Does Not Contain Spoilers-
The latest episode starts with the perfect execution of NoHo Hank’s new illegal enterprise (sand export) and leads into his plan to eliminate Barry, with the help of two highly trained assassins who also run a part-time podcast. The unique set of hitmen duo is arranged by a close associate (played by Guillermo Del Toro), who further guarantees the accuracy of the job.
The episode then moves onto Mr Cousineau’s backup plan (after the latter vomited everything to the Variety reporter in the previous instalment) and finds him struggling to erase any evidence of his dramatic recreation from the one-man show. Moreover, we also get a sneak peek into Sally’s new job as an acting teacher, where she preps to transfer her toxic traits of Gene Cousineau’s acting method.
Back in prison, the variety reporter leaks the information to Barry, who simply dials in NoHo Hank, to remove him from the frame for a while. However, his plan backfires, when Hank confronts him about the FBI’s involvement and refuses to cooperate with him in the process.
On the second front, Fuches grows another pair of conscience after watching Rain Main inside the prison and decides to save his friend from the hit. Although he tries to put his point forward, the cell guard does not pay any attention to his ordeal, whatsoever.

Furthermore, Sally learns her first teaching lesson, when she picks on one of the students, and extracts the best out of her in the process. However, the entire thing is perceived as an abusive approach, that isolates her from the students. Meanwhile, Gene visits Jim Moss, to confront him about the Variety piece, and ultimately ends up in a corner.
Finally, the hitmen strategy goes in complete vain, with another interesting cameo from Fred Armisen, and leads to a narrow escape from Barry. Moreover, it creates another round of speculation as to where Berkman might head next.

Barry Season 4 Episode 3 Review

The episode keeps a strong check on the overall pacing and quality of the series and maintains a gripping storyline throughout. It kind of sets the path for the progression of the characters, with everyone at different stages of their life. For instance, Sally gets comfortable in her acting shoes, Gene collides again with the threatening Moss, and NoHo Hank tries his level best to be tougher than before.
As of now, Jim Moss is easily one the most daunting characters in the show, with an exceptional interrogatory method. He is the only one who can make things difficult for Barry, even if he escapes trial and confides in the FBI programme (which, based on the current incidents, might not be the case).
There is still a lot left to uncover in terms of Barry’s emotional arc and vision. The bunch of nightmares have only started to surface, and might only get worse after the Sally ordeal. It’s quite clear that Berkman needs immediate help until he explodes into the worst version of himself again.
