– Bai Ji Kuttange Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –

Bai Ji Kuttange centres on Bai ji, depicted by Dev Kharoud. He is an astute businessman who conducts his life according to a set of ideals and expects everyone else in his immediate environment to do the same without a hint of resistance. He treats his staff in a highly professional and stringent manner and does not believe in having any personal equations.

However, his life turns upside down when Boota Singh, portrayed by Gurpreet Ghuggi, enters his life.

The introduction of Boota Singh into the storyline provided the film with much-needed drama. He joins Bai Ji as a driver and slowly starts challenging Bai Ji’s world, all of which give rise to a number of chaotic scenarios that will leave viewers in splits.

Bai Ji kuttange Still 1

Not only is the movie filled with humour, but there are also three different love tales taking place at the same time. The brewing romance between the characters makes the story more intriguing and entertaining, as, without it, the plot would have been flat and uninteresting. The ongoing love stories add to the overall watchability of the movie.

The movie is a typical Punjabi romantic comedy with a dash of action in it. It is much like other Punjabi movies, slapstick and situational comedy, over the top and without anything substantial in the plot or the movie. The story is gripping and entertaining, yet has nothing new to offer its viewers. The storyline is built upon several interesting characters who add drama and amusement to the plot.

The character of Boota Singh is the driving force behind the plot of the film. Boota Singh, also called Jhoota Singh by his acquaintances, is the most intriguing character in the movie. He lies at the drop of a hat and gets away with it. Another interesting character in the movie is Pammi, Boota Singh’s wife, played by Upasana Singh, is another fascinating character in the movie; she keeps the storyline entertaining with her shenanigans and witty dialogue.

The movie’s cast has done a commendable job; they should be lauded for their comic timings; however, some of them need to improve their Punjabi dialect to sound more genuine and convincing as Punjabis. There are some individual performances that stand out throughout the cast and deserve to be mentioned. Dev Kharoud’s performance as Bai Ji has been outstanding. Gurpreet Ghuggi is a master of his art and has once again shown his acting prowess in this film as he exhibits impeccable comedic timing. As always, Upasana Singh was flawless in character, and her depiction of Pammi was brilliant.

Bai Ji Kuttenge Still 3

One thing that is seemingly disappointing in the movie is its music. Instead of adding to the plot, the background music acts as a distraction and is just not soothing to ears as it seems too loud. The Punjabi film industry is known for quirky numbers and some soulful melodies; however, this film lacks this element. The music has failed to thrill us, despite the presence of some peppy and romantic tracks.

This film once again demonstrates that comedy is Smeep Kang’s greatest strength as a filmmaker. Bai Ji Kuttange is a jubilant, turbulent ride that will have you in fits of laughter.

Bai Ji Kuttange Final Thoughts
