Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s newest release, Animal, has turned out to be quite the hit, with theatres packed for days on end and the audience not being able to get enough of Ranbir Kapoor’s amazing acting. The movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and a whole host of other amazing actors who bring a rawness to this emotional tale of the bond between a father and son.
The storyline follows Ranvijay Singh, a man with anger issues and extreme determination, who sets out on a revenge mission after an attempted assassination of his father. It also showcases how his relationship with his father affects his relationship with those around him, especially with his wife Geetanjali Singh.
If you, however, have been unable to watch the movie on the big screens, then this is your sign to quickly catch it the moment it drops on streaming giant Netflix.
5 Reasons to Watch Animal on Netflix
Great Acting
As mentioned previously, Animal is teeming with great actors. While Anil Kapoor plays a very effective patriarch of the family whose word is king, Ranbir Kapoor’s angry young man Ranvijay is an equal competitor for the throne. He loves his father and will do anything for his attention and approval and the lengths that he goes to in order to get that is beyond shocking. This is Kapoor’s film and he does a fantastic job of bringing forth such a grey character to the surface in such a believable manner. You might hate or love Ranvijay, but you definitely cannot ignore him!

Thrilling Script
The runtime of the movie 201 minutes, making it one of the longest Indian films to be made. In spite of that, the movie never feels boring and, for most of it, is an easy and entertaining watch. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga keeps audiences engaged with turmoil and action and if there’s no drama between the characters, then there are blood-soaked action sequences that are done to perfection and keep everyone at the edge of their seats. Not for a minute will you ever feel bored throughout!
Smooth Action Sequences
As mentioned above, there are several lengthy action sequences in the movie that are extremely well-done and don’t feel boring. Kapoor is the one who spearheads most of them and, along with his no-nonsense demeanour and rugged physique, the actor performs with brilliance. It’s easy to forget sometimes that the actor isn’t a thug out for vengeance! But, jokes aside, the choreography for most of these sequences is made intricately and delivers the expected effect that doesn’t let you down!
Bobby Deol
I mean, this might fall in the “good acting” bit but I think Deol’s Abrar ul Haque requires a separate point here! His character isn’t in the movie for as long as we’d like but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t steal the show immediately! I mean, who can forget his entry to Jamal Kudu, dancing with a glass on his head? Deol’s gentle demeanour in this part takes a complete 180 later on and he nails every bit of his character’s moments in the film, making him a memorable addition.

Music
The film score is composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar and it’s one of the reasons why all the different sequences of the film work. It binds everything together and gives it the edge that movies like these require. The songs featured in the film are composed by JAM8, Vishal Mishra, Jaani, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Ashim Kemson, Harshwardhan Rameshwar, Bhupinder Babbal and A. R. Rahman.
There are 17 tracks in the album, with four singles, Hua Main, Satranga, Papa Meri Jaan and Arjan Vailly. Every song in this movie, much like Vanga’s other films, is a beautiful representation of real feelings that will either pump your adrenaline or break your heart with emotions. They are all memorable songs that will stay with you long after the movie is over.
Animal will begin streaming on Netflix from January 26, 2024. Let us know if you’re excited to watch this thrilling movie on the small screen!
