Alchemy of Souls Prequel Should Happen and 3 Reasons Why We Think So!

Alchemy of Souls season 2 finale marked the end of this wonderful historical fantasy and has left us with a strong feeling of nostalgia about the time we spent with the Kdrama. Directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Go Yoon-jung, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members, the sequel premiered on tvN on December 10, 2022.

With the season finale ending on January 8, 2023, the show may have ended but that doesn’t stop our desire for more as the excitement we got from this show is unforgettable. While the Hong sisters satisfied us with the beautiful ending that brought happiness to everyone in Daeho, there are some legends from this mystical place that we need to witness for ourselves.

And this means, there’s more than enough content that needs to be covered and this has brought up our expectations for another season. So without further ado, here’s why we think the Alchemy of Souls prequel should happen!

3 Reasons Why Alchemy of Souls Prequel Should Happen

Seo Gyeong’s Legend

One of the biggest happenings in Daeho was a story from 200 years back when the Great Chaos that almost destroyed all of Daeho was stopped by the previous King’s star Seo Gyeong. Now revered and respected by everyone in Daeho, he is an unforgettable legend and an OP character we have heard about all season. And after that heartbreaking love letter that was decoded by Jang Uk in season 1, there is no doubt that fans want to know more about him.

So why not give us another season to show just how amazing Jang Uk’s predecessor, Seo Gyeong was and give us a sneak peek into his own heartbreaking love story?

Jin Seol-ran, The Great Priestess

Alchemy of Souls ended with the best ending and the credits are all flowing towards Jin Seol-ran who has solved the chaos that appeared 200 years after her time. While she may have been the reason why it even began in the first place, we need to know more about this OP priestess who build the doors of Jinyowon.

Being the one whose powers were on par with Seo Gyeong, she is really a legend and their love story is really something that we all want to know about. Plus, it is definitely not one that should be missed out on.

The Previous Generation

While Jang Uk and his generation have proved that they are among the best mages in all of Daeho, however, there existed mages just as amazing as them. I’m talking about the generation before them that had mages like Jang Kang, Park Jin, Seo Yul’s father and more whose stories are technically still unknown.

Not to forget, their fight scene in Alchemy of Souls have proved to be some of the best and should not be confined to only those little scenes. Their story is really something that at least needs a good spin-off.
