Alchemy of Souls Overview

Alchemy of Souls (Return/환혼) is a 2022 Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.

The series revolves around Jang Wook and Mu-deok, residents of the fictional country of Daeho, whose shortcomings get eradicated when they invariably come into each other’s lives. Deok-yi, an elite warrior trapped in a weak body, becomes Jang Wook’s servant and secret teacher and helps him become better than the rumours that follow him. Will they be able to help each other get what they want out of life?

Alchemy of Souls takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9 PM KST timeslot previously occupied by Our Blues.

Alchemy of Souls Plot

Netflix’s official synopsis reads: “A powerful sorceress in a blind woman’s body encounters a man from a prestigious family, who wants her help to change his destiny.”

The drama fantasy series stars Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members and is created by Park Joon-hwa, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 18 India Release Date and Time

The series will stream from June 18, 2022, to August 28, 2022. Episode 18 of the series will stream on August 21 at 9 PM KST (7.30 PM IST) as the show goes on hiatus.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 18 Predictions

A mysterious barrier has emerged that keeps the students of Songrim trapped inside along with the crown prince. The soul shifter has awoken and desires to kill someone. While the mages are unable to use their energy, the soul shifter can do as he likes. Jang Uk comes up with a plan which will endanger him. When Mu-deok gets to know about this, she rushes to save her pupil and unsheathes her sword to fight the soul shifter.

Episode 17 continues the reunion, however, while Jang Uk is unable to recognise Jang Kang, Jin Ho-kyung grows suspicious about So Yi. Park Jin is going around luring people with the power of the ice stone and giving Jin Ho-kyung the responsibility to protect it.

She then takes it to a Unanimous assembly where she brings it out into the world while trying to get everyone present to go against Songrim. However, while Park Jin is adamant about destroying the stone, Jang Uk appears and informs everyone that master Seo’s will for the ice stone is in his book- Words of the Heart.

Later, he reveals the truth about the queen to the crown prince and wants to take this opportunity to find her. Elsewhere, for the king’s amusement, Mu-deok is the experimental subject to test the powers of the ice stone. Standing in front of Jin Ho-kyung, she is ready to die and be brought to life.

However, while being choked, memories of Jin Bu-yeon’s childhood flash by and she calls out “Mother” which shocks Jin Ho-kyung. A storm starts brewing.

Alchemy of Souls is now streaming on Netflix.
