Jeong-suk doesn’t mention the baby outfit she saw in Geum-hui’s stockroom and instead joins the party. Geum-hui instinctively takes care of Do-hyeon when he accidentally cuts his hand, though she’s unsure why she feels so drawn to him. Do-hyeon, too, feels a sense of comfort around her. After the party, Do-hyeon meets with his senior officer, who worries about him losing ground in his search for his birth mother, but Do-hyeon remains resolute.

The next day, Geum-hui calls Jeong-suk for a photoshoot of their products, using her camera. Jeong-suk considers bringing up the baby outfit again but decides to stay silent. During the shoot, Jon Wong notices Geum-hui struggling with photography and suggests Dae-geun, who surprises everyone with his skills. Afterward, Jeong-suk and Geum-hui invite Do-hyeon to lunch. At the restaurant, Geum-hui notices Do-hyeon adding extra pepper powder to his soup, a habit she shares.

Jeong-suk silently observes the interaction, burdened by what she knows. Later, Jeong-suk and Do-hyeon go for a walk, and she asks why Geum-hui isn’t on his list of possible mothers. Do-hyeon explains that Geum-hui couldn’t have been in Geumje at the time of his birth. When he mentions wanting a kind mother like Geum-hui, Jeong-suk finally reveals what she saw in the stockroom.

That night, Ju-ri has a date with Dae-geun, who becomes emotional when she praises his skills, feeling validated for the first time. Their moment is interrupted by Dae-geun’s mother, Young-ja, who later tries to bribe Ju-ri to leave her son. When Dae-geun defends Ju-ri, Young-ja kicks him out and cancels Ju-ri’s lease, leaving her homeless. Ju-ri, her child, and Dae-geun seek shelter with Geum-hui and Jon Wong, who offer to help them.

Do-hyeon later meets with Jeong-suk and Min-ho to catch snails, confiding in Jeong-suk about his interaction with Geum-hui. Meanwhile, Geum-hui struggles to concentrate at home and work, haunted by memories of Do-hyeon. That night, she asks Ju-ri if she regrets becoming a single mother. Ju-ri says raising her son has made her happier, leaving Geum-hui lost in thought.

The next day, Do-hyeon confronts Geum-hui, asking why she abandoned him. She coldly claims she gave him up because he was the result of reckless dating. Her words devastate both of them. At home, Geum-hui is consumed by guilt and struggles with work. Jeong-suk, concerned after Do-hyeon doesn’t answer her calls, finds him sick in bed. She buys him medicine, but Geum-hui overhears and pulls Jeong-suk aside. Geum-hui explains her fears about Jon Wong leaving her if he learns the truth.

The subplot involving Ju-ri and Dae-geun adds a lighter, yet meaningful, counterpoint to the heavier main storyline. Dae-geun’s struggles for validation and Ju-ri’s unwavering support provide a touching commentary on resilience and unconditional love, despite societal pressures. The tension with Dae-geun’s mother adds stakes and highlights the sacrifices Ju-ri and Dae-geun are willing to make for their relationship. The episode’s pacing is effective, seamlessly interweaving these narratives, culminating in a poignant conclusion as Geum-hui and Do-hyeon reconcile, and Jon Wong provides his unwavering support.
