A Christmas Mystery is yet another title added to the upcoming holiday movies lineup releasing on HBO Max this November. Every town has its signature heritage; for Pleasant Bay in Oregon, it’s the magical jingle bells that ensure seasonal joy every year.
And just like that, every town has its own set of non-believers as well, but there are also some out there who count on chaotic misfires to rid society of its prevalent order and calm. This holiday season in Pleasant Bay, it’s up to the kids to save the air of celebration in town and restore Christmas.
Starring Violet McGraw, Oscar Nunez, Santino Barnard, Eddie Cibrian, Lauren Lindsey Donzis, and more, the film has been directed by Alex Ranarivelo and will center around the young detective Violet picking up on her father’s streak for the investigation to help her friend in need.
Her best friend’s father is falsely implicated in stealing the magical jingle bells, and now she and her friends must band together to clear his name and find the actual culprit before it’s too late. They narrow down the number of possible suspects responsible for the robbery of the town’s symbolic artifact to three – the Mayor, Glenn (the museum guy), and Kenny’s dad, at whose doorstep the evidence was found.

One-hundred years ago, a strip of Santa’s magical jingle bells were discovered by a young boy in Pleasant Bay, Oregon, bringing about a century of prosperity and peace for the small town. Now, just days before Christmas, the bells – the lifeblood of the town – are missing, and it’s up to a group of intrepid kids to solve the case, find the bells and restore the Christmas magic to Pleasant Bay and its citizens.
