Watership Down

Dealing with the central theme of the role of a leader in society, it also involves themes of violence, suicide, prejudice and even genocide. Yes, and all with bunnies as the characters in the film.
Directed by Martine Rosen, the film is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Richard Adams. The plot revolves around a group of rabbits who have lost their home and are now set up on the task of building a new home. Away from human interventions, this is a task that will deal with many human virtues making this a film that has potentially traumatised an entire generation.
Coraline
This dark fantasy horror film is fairly new when compared to the others on this list, but it has brought in an unsettling feeling that cannot be denied. Focusing on the idea of appreciating one’s home even though imperfect, this film takes you on an adventure through the eyes of a young girl who finds her “perfect” home. However, when the truth behind this perfection comes out, all she wishes is to return.
Directed by Henry Selick, the film is based on the novella of the same name by Neil Gaiman. The plot revolves around an adventurous girl who finds a secret door in her new house. As she steps into this secret door, she finds a strange idealised version of her frustrating home, unaware of the secrets that it holds.
Seoul Station
Finally, we have a prequel to our beloved Korean horror film Train to Busan. Released in 2016, this film follows the horrors of the zombie virus and how it all began in the other film. Becoming a must-see among fans, this is a thrilling and horrifying film that you shouldn’t miss out on.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the film stars Shim Eun-kyung, Ryu Seung-ryong, Lee Joon, and other cast members. The plot explores how the zombie epidemic began in the sequel while following three main characters.
