Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 17 Recap

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 18 Review: Holidaying At Onsen

This episode picks up the day after Taiyo took Mutsumi’s blood, leaving him exhausted and suffering from severe cramps. To help him out, Mutsumi assigns Nanao to accompany Taiyo to school. Taiyo worries about how Nanao’s unusual appearance will stand out, but he soon learns that Nanao can transform into a regular-looking boy with just an injection.

At school, Nanao proves to be more normal than expected. He’s friendly with his classmates and enjoys being part of the school environment. However, due to his unstable body, he must regularly inject himself with tranquillizers to maintain his human form. He also has a soft spot for his biology club classmate, Kitasato. When Nanao suggests quitting school to avoid burdening himself and others with his condition, Taiyo strongly opposes the idea.

Determined to give Nanao the high school experience he desires, Taiyo takes it upon himself to help administer the tranquillizers around the school. However, things spiral out of control when one of Nanao’s mutation pills is accidentally swallowed by Kitasato’s pet snake, Basilisk. This causes chaos, leading to a situation that could determine whether Nanao can continue attending school or be forced to leave for good.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 18 Review And Recap

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 18 Review: Holidaying At Onsen

Today’s episode was more fun and entertaining than others as we saw our protagonists enjoy a much-needed break. Taiyo starts to undergo intense training under the supervision of Kyoichiro, with Shinzo. He realises he must work harder to utilise the power of Yozakura blood to its maximum capacity. Hence, he must train more otherwise he can jeopardize his life along with Mutsumi’s life. Thankfully, Kyoichiro is there to hammer the basics in Taiyo, even though he hates his brother-in-law.

This is when Mutsumi comes back with great news. She has managed to get her hands on a free onsen trip where she and her family can go for a holiday. But sadly, Kyoichiro can not attend their trip, a fact nobody is unhappy about. He creates quite the chaos as he will have to let Taiyo and his beloved sister go to Onsen. Hence, he also makes sure to threaten Taiyo to not take a bath with Mutsumi at any cost. Thus, all the Yozakura siblings, minus Kyoichiro, along with Taiyo, go to the onsen, which is a bit different from the normal Onsens.

You see, this place is frequented by the underworld thugs, spies, etc. The moment the Yozakura’s come, many become threatened because of their position and power. A group of criminals even try to pick a fight with them as Kyoichiro has destroyed their clan previously. But then the mistress of the inn steps in and forbids them to fight inside the premises as it is the policy.

We also witness many hilarious moments between the Yozakuras as the boys and the girls reside in separate rooms. Each group have great fun, sitting beside the window, reminiscing about their childhood, watching adult videos, etc. But it was not all fun as Mutsumi finally revealed her traumatic past with Taiyo. However, this happened when Taiyo and Mutsumi were taking a bath together and that is when Kyoichiro discovers them. You can guess what happens next.
