Death’s Game Ending Explained
Death’s Game Part 1 paints a vivid picture of Choi Yi-jae navigating a profoundly challenging existence, contending with a relentless barrage of setbacks. Despite the unyielding adversities, he remains resilient, tirelessly working in pursuit of a fortuitous breakthrough that could redirect him towards a more favourable path, offering relief from his ongoing tribulations. Unfortunately, each endeavour seems to reach a metaphorical standstill, trapping him in an inescapable loop of despair.
Confronted with the apparent futility of his endeavours, he arrives at a poignant crossroads, opting to end his own life to escape the painful miseries of existence. Yet, the universe unfolds unexpected twists as Death materializes before him to mete out punishment for his drastic decision. Condemned to a harsh penalty, he must endure twelve additional lives, each culminating in the most atrocious encounters with death. Already, he has faced death seven times in various bodies.

What Happened to Tae-u? Did Yi-jae take his revenge?
In Yi-jae’s eighth incarnated life as Jung Kyu-cheol, he decides to take revenge on Tae-u (Kim Ji-Hoon). However, Kyu-cheol is a psychopath himself, preying upon innocent victims for inspiration in his art. Nevertheless, this doesn’t deter Yi-jae, who devises an elaborate plan to make Tae-u pay for his crimes. Intent on luring Tae-u into his home, Yi-jae plans to kill him. However, upon entering, Tae-u discovers Kyu-cheol unconscious in the room, suffering from a diagnosed chronic disease.
Upon awakening as Kyu-cheol, Yi-jae finds himself bound to the same bed as the painter’s earlier victims. Tae-u meticulously inflicts similar harm, using a chainsaw to sever his legs. Eventually, Tae-u discloses that his motivation for killing stems from a desire for the adrenaline rush, ultimately leading to Yi-jae’s demise.

In the subsequent life, Yi-jae is reborn as a police officer and decides to visit Kyu-cheol’s house. Exploring a hidden room, he discovers the entire murder documented on camera. However, when he releases the video to media channels, it fails to have a significant impact, as Tae-u confesses to the crime and alters the narrative to self-defense. Undeterred, Yi-jae crafts a meticulous plan, accumulating evidence, and eventually exposes Tae-u’s involvement in the murder of Jin-tae. Subsequently, Tae-u experiences a brutal accident, resulting in the loss of both his legs.
