Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 5 Recap
Inside Doogo’s warehouse, Nam-soon uses her strength to locate the mask boxes and grabs hold of them. During the search, Hee-sik’s ankle gets twisted and she carries him outside, making him feel quite embarrassed. Meanwhile, Geum-ju gets an invite for dinner from an organisation called Opulentia and she leaves for the place. She gets chased by someone only to find it’s the same man who gave her the business card to Heritage Club. Both of them go to the place they were invited by Opulentia Vice-chairman, and they find an old man selling barbeque items.
Geum-ju learns that the seller is the rich Vice-chairman trying to enjoy his life. She learns that she has become allies with good people who want to take down the drug business, especially Ryu Shi-o. The following day, the police get intel from a Doogo staff regarding Hwa-ja but he soon cuts the call after Hwa-ja comes and threatens him. The cop forwards the info to Hee-sik and he conveys it to Nam-soon. She tells him that she won’t let Hwa-ja go to prison because her mother said that Hwa-ja deserves a chance at life.

One Heritage Club member visits Geum-ju and gives her a rare blue diamond in exchange for money. Geum-ju asks the woman the purpose behind her need for money and learns about Song Bread, a big businessman who is known for doubling black money. Geum-ju finds him suspicious and visits his office. He flirts with her and talks casually which furthermore makes her believe he has a dark secret behind him. Hee-sik gets called back at the station since they found that the masks aren’t drugs. This information pisses Hee-sik as he believed all the masks indeed are drugs.
Hee-sik gets more details about Hwa-ja’s past and learns that she is an orphan who joined a dark gangster group. At Nam-in’s cafe, Joong-gan openly tells Nam-in and Bong-go that she is hitting on their barista, Jun-hee. When Jun-hee and Joong-gan sit together, he gets a message from his daughter regarding money that she needs due to an accident case. Joong-han asks him to video call his daughter since it might be a scam. However, his daughter does come on screen and requests 20 million won and he sends it.

Joong-gan and Jun-hee go to Gangnam police station where his daughter claims to be. They then realise that no such accident happened and that the video was deepfaked. Joong-gan then takes Jun-hee out for a meal and informs Nam-in that he won’t be at the cafe. After the call, a woman approaches Nam-in and gives him a tiny tablet, saying that it helped her to become slim. Nam-in simply takes the tablet and keeps it down.
Nam-soon decides to check the Doogo warehouse at night alone since Hee-sik’s head has asked him to chuck the mission. When she goes inside, she sees a man standing and asks him whether he is alright only to get pushed by him (he has insane strength enough to throw Nam-soon away). She doesn’t know that it is Ryu Shi-o. She returns home from the place and has a conversation with her mother.

She reveals about the drug case she’s working on with Hee-sik to Geum-ju. Nam-soon looks at Ryu Shi-o’s photo on Geum-ju’s computer and tells her that she saw him. This makes Geum-ju relaise that her daughter is also working on the same case as her. The mom and daughter duo agree to work on it together and save the world.
The next day, Ryu Shi-o wonders about who the woman was that he encountered last night. He then learns about a Mongolian woman working at his office and looks at her video happily as she is the person he has been searching for all along. Geum-ju meets Hee-sik and tells him that she is the one who sent him the intel on Doogo making him shocked. At the workplace, Nam-soon stumbles upon Hwa-ja and the episode ends.
Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 5 Review

The episode showed that Ryu Shi-o isn’t a normal person but has strength similar to Nam-soon. However, how did he get such powers is a mystery. Did the drug he took give him such insane power? Because in this episode almost everyone who died due to excess drugs showed signs of strength and need for water. This mystery increases curiosity to watch further episodes to learn the truth.
Coming to Hee-sik and Nam-soon their chemistry is so cute. Both of them already like each other and it’s a surprise how they are not a hate-love couple. They genuinely are attracted to each other, and this plot is quite fresh. No bickering, no second lead, nothing. Simply two people madly crushing and trying to protect each other.
Since the mask has been found by the cop, I think Shi-o is switching the drug to a tiny tablet because whatever Nam-in received from the strange woman is definitely suspicious. The romance between Jun-hee and Joong-gan is also cute because age has nothing to do with love. I wish Geum-ju and Bong-go reunite because they’re in love but their ego is departing them from each other.
