Aakhri Sach Episode 4 Review: Refuses to Make Any Good Progress

Aakhri Sach Episode 4 Review: Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, Shivin Narang, Danish Iqbal, Rahul Bagga, Kriti Vij, Sanjeev Chopra, Nishu Dikshit, and more actors feature in the Disney+ Hotstar series. The story, which was written by Saurav Dey and was directed by Robbie Grewal, is based on the Delhi Burari Deaths of 2018. The fourth episode is titled as ‘Blurring the Lines: Ardh Satya’.

Aakhri Sach Episode 4 Recap/Review Contains Spoilers

In Aakhri Sach Episode 4, the Chamatkari Baba tells Anya about Bhuvan’s strange behaviour. He kept seeing his dad in dreams. It was because of Bhuvan the family shifted from Bhojipura to Kishan Ganj in Delhi. Initially, the family struggled with finances, jobs and schools for their kids. Seeing his family upset troubled Bhuvan. That’s when Bhuvan met Chamatkari Baba and talked about his father.

One day, Bhuvan goes for a swim and suddenly becomes optimistic. He tells his wife he saw his father again (in his dream/imagination). Suddenly, things change for the better for the Rajawat family. Anshika gets a job, his son gets admission to a school, and they even start a new paint shop. Chamatkari Baba hints at Bhuvan’s strange behaviour and control over his family.

Just when we thought the makers would fully focus on the Rajawat family as it’s not only the 4th episode but also the story of these people, we are left with another big disappointment. Again, half the episode is wasted with the drama in Anya’s life. She has a nightmare about her friend drowning and catching her boyfriend with another girl. The two male cops keep making sexist remarks behind her back.

Anya travels to meet her superior and expresses the pressure of investigating the case. As a viewer, you hardly see any struggle or challenges taken up by the cops so far. The narrative and pace are so bad that one would read old news articles and get acquainted with the case instead of waiting for the Hotstar series to tell something crucial.

Aakhri Episode 4 Still 3

Aakhri Sach Episode 4 also focuses on Aman, Anshika’s fiance. He does his own investigation by talking to the kids in the same area where the Rajawat family resided. It’s the same drama all over again, with no information to help the plot progress. By the end of the episode, Anya finds diaries the family would keep at Bhuvan’s insistence. But after making 4 dull and empty episodes, the curiosity to know more has been killed.

Aakhri Sach Episode 4 Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, the fourth episode of the Disney+ Hotstar series is flat and dull. Tamannaah’s constant startled expressions are getting monotonous. Anya is a poorly written character because even after 4 episodes, hardly any quality makes us interested in knowing her. Her personal tragedy is the biggest and worst distraction in the crime series.

The show has made the Rajawat family look like a side character in their own story. The series starts with their bodies hanging inside the house. But even after 4 long episodes, the makers refuse to tell us anything more than just the small fillers. With only 2 episodes left, I wonder how they will piece it all together. The Burari Death case of 2018 was so dense and had so much to uncover. So, the makers might overstuff everything in the last two episodes. But if they again add a random Anya plot to the story, we might get a half-baked story as it has been from the beginning.

The fourth episode is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
