Class of ’09 Episode 1 and 2 Review: The Suspenseful Story Begins…
We start Class of ’09 in the year 2034 against the FBI backdrop. We meet Ashley Poet, an FBI agent on a mission to catch an extremist called Amos Garcia. It is revealed that Poet and Amos have known each other in the past which is why the director has put her on the case. It looks like a Clarice-Hannibal chase initially as we see Poet trying her resources to catch the defaulter.
We follow Poet on her journey to catch Amos in the show’s first two episodes, which gives us a path to also travel to her past and her FBI days. We realize how disappointed Amos is in Poet as he is too critical of the present justice system as the latter tries to hunt him down, not very successfully, of course.
The premiere episodes open a way for us to interact with Poet’s past and understand the workings of the FBI as we also live in the present where Amos is a terror. Soon enough, the show takes its first crucial turn when a death occurs that jerks us open to a secret.

Class of ’09 would inevitably remind you of ABC’s Quantico when it begins. There is tension, a mystery, a race against time in some ways and, a reunion that only digs deeper into the rabbit hole of the soon-to-be-revealed climax. But, essentially, the series feels like just the thing one would need at this point, beyond the horrors, dramas and thrillers that are being dropped on us by every other OTT platform.
Knowing how Tom Rob Smith creates his drama, it is only natural that the first two episodes have really piqued our interest in what is the connection between Poet and Amos but, this work of fiction has already put big ideas in our heads with its narrative and we are only expecting the best to come next.
Class of ’09 Episode 1 and 2: Final Thoughts

The cast is really pulling it off with Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara giving us just the right feels. However, are yet to see how the twists and turns add up to either make this show shine or shatter.
