Pandora Beneath the Paradise (판도라: 조작된 낙원) is a Korean thriller action drama that brings the story of a woman who has to reach the top to protect her family. Directed by Choi Young-hoon, the drama stars Lee Ji-ah, Lee Sang-yoon, Jang Hee-jin, Park Ki-woong, Bong Tae-kyu, and Shim So-young, alongside other cast members.
The show will have 16 episodes and takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:10 PM KST timeslot previously held by Crash Course in Romance. Pandora Beneath the Paradise episode 9 has a run time of 63 minutes.

Pandora Beneath the Paradise episode 9 begins with Tae-ra stopping Seon-deok’s plans to harm her brother which has finally crossed her limits as she then proceeds to kill the latter herself. However, this shocks everyone at the party as they panic but stop anyone from leaving before the police arrive.
Looking at the situation, Pil-seung escape in order to get their attention while Jae-hyun’s attention falls on Tae-ra’s sleeve she is hiding and understands what has happened. He soon rushes the two out of there and to their house, where Tae-ra soon calls Pil-seung for them to meet.

Tae-ra and Pil-seung then destroy Hanwool’s base and any evidence that can be found while asking the people there to escape as soon as possible as Seon-deok is dead. Having done this, Tae-ra then asks Pil-seung to lay low for some time and asks Yeong-hwee for her help in this task while preparing herself to soon bring this whole thing to an end.
The next day, investigators make their way to Jae-hyun’s house where they ask to meet Tae-ra who smoothly appears from the back and answers their questions. They then ask to check her dress from the night before which makes her anxious, however, Jae-hyun appears with the dress but they find nothing.
Jae-hyun then warns them of the consequences while they leave the house while the news is taken over with Hanwool being exposed to everyone. The media tries to make connections between Jae-hyun and Seon-deok but fail after his statement denying any connections between the two.
Elsewhere, Tae-ra finds out that Jae-hyun had her dress replaced which helps her understand that he knew about her killing Seon-deok. She then sends Jiu off for her overnight stay where she meets Hae-soo who once again taunts her. And once again, Tae-ra is unable to say anything.
Hae-soo then plans to reveal everything about her father-in-law with Mr Park’s help, while elsewhere, Yeong-hwee finds a clue that shakes her to the core. It turns out that Sung-chan has something to do with the disappearance of Su-jeong and might also have something to do with Kyo-jin’s accident.
Meanwhile, Sung-chan confesses to Jae-hyun about the cameras in his office that he installed at Tae-ra’s request after which he tries to show his loyalty to Jae-hyun. However, the two are unaware that Kyo-jin is able to hear them and remembers that someone cut the ropes that held him from falling down the cliff when he got into the accident.
He is aware that someone has purposely put him in this state and he now needs a way to get back at them. Later that night, Jae-hyun returns home to find it dark when suddenly someone puts a gun against his back.
He turns to find Tae-ra holding a gun as she asks him the reason behind making her Hong Tae-ra and creating this web of lies around her. He confesses that he knew her before she was Hong Tae-ra or No. 50, and calls her real name- Mun Ha-gyeong.
Jae-hyun then reveals that the accident that killed her parents also killed his mother and it was because she saw Mr Uhm’s car and reported it that she was taken to Hanwool Mental Hospital. He tried to save her but couldn’t because he was late, after this, he once again saw her after she fell down the cliff.
This was when he sent her to France and created the perfect Hong Tae-ra who has the most perfect life. He tells her that he did this because he loves her, but Tae-ra is unable to digest all this information and is overwhelmed. However, she is unable to bring herself to be part of this fantasy and wants to get him to confess everything and get their punishment.
However, Jae-hyun is not ready as the game that he has set is one that won’t get over until he gets his revenge on Geun-mo and reaches the pinnacle. But then he gets pointed at by the gun again when suddenly the door clicks and Tae-ra is surprised, taking advantage of which Jae-hyun snatches her gun. Jiu then arrives and it is revealed that Jae-hyun had called Jiu’s caretaker to bring her home as soon as possible.
He then tells Tae-ra that there is no place for Pil-seung or anyone else in this picture and leaves from there. The next day, Geun-mo lashes on Do-jin for giving up on his father while the latter is remorseful after having gotten a divorce notice from Hae-soo. He has given up but Geun-mo asks him to stop Hae-soo from revealing anything.
He refuses while elsewhere Tae-ra is unable to wrap her head around all the information that she has gotten. She then spots Hae-soo leaving for a press conference and tries to reveal Jae-hyun’s truth to her but the latter is not ready to listen.
Pandora Beneath the Paradise Episode 9 Ending
Pandora Beneath the Paradise episode 9 ends with Hae-soo being asked by Mr Park to delay the conference until he arrives as he has more evidence to which she agrees, however, he doesn’t arrive for a long time. Elsewhere, Geun-mo is trying to make his escape when Jae-hyun arrives and reveals that his assistant has been working for him this whole time.
The money that he just transferred was to another account and now the only way for him to survive is by merging Kumjo into Hatch. Geun-mo’s is in shock and is rushed to the hospital where Do-jin is given two choices by Jae-hyun, to either support his wife and reveal the truth to hide everything and support his father while helping in the merge.
Do-jin makes his choice soon and announces the merge at the same press conference that Hae-soo had prepared to reveal her father’s truth. She is disappointed by this but Do-jin then tells her that no one will believe her as she is now going to be deemed mentally unstable.
This surprises Hae-soo even further as she is drugged and made unconscious before being taken out from there. However, unknown to Do-jin, Jae-hyun has something else planned for Hae-soo as he asks his people to get rid of Hae-soo forever.
Hae-soo is taken to the docks, when suddenly, Tae-ra appears on a bike and saves her in time.
Pandora Beneath the Paradise Episode 9 Review
Another detail-filled episode with a lot happening as more history is revealed and so is the plot that Jae-hyun has been laying about for a long long time. This episode shed more light on the depth of Jae-hyun and Tae-ra’s relationship and has only brought this level of sinisterness to another level.
However, their story has definitely gone a level up on the romance list as their star-crossed fate might just find its ending soon. And this is something that we know will definitely happen because they share different views on the same thing which makes it harder for them to be on the same page.
Along with these two, it seems to me like Sung-chan’s character is slowly coming more under the spotlight as his role looks to be like something more than just a friend of Jae-hyun’s and a researcher at Hatch. And there’s definitely more to his brain smartness than what we know, after all, he might just be the reason for another genius’ disappearance.
Altogether, the show is getting better and better with each week and it is surely to get better from this point on, because the games are going to shift a lot more from here.
