-Heavenly Delusion Episode 2 Review Contains No Spoilers-
The second episode opens where the first one left off and provides a satisfying conclusion to the cliffhanger. Additionally, the action sequence was a visual treat to the audience. Besides the detailed animation, the inclusion of slow-motion effects elevated the scenes. The sudden change of the aspect ratio during the final battle gives us a full display of the glorious segment. It also generously displayed the brutal scenes, which only makes the anticipation for the next episode rise.
Besides the top-notch animation, there is significant plot development. Some backstory about the characters is shown where we can get a vague idea about who they were prior to the apocalyptic event. Maru is desperately in search of a look-alike who is asked to help. Yet he has little to no idea about the person. Kiruko, on the other hand, has a shady past as she refuses to reveal anything about her previous life. Nevertheless, both characters heavily rely on each other. They both contain special skill sets which have helped them to survive the outside world till now.

Certain LGBTQ and queer scenes are present in the episode with suggestive imaging. However, it is hard to decipher such instances as the plot might turn out differently later on. Some superhuman capabilities are also shown, indicating experiments conducted on the children. It has been a great treat for the manga fans as the creators have not derailed the story so far.
Maru and Kiruko are still in search of a place called ‘Heaven’, and during that, they come across various types of people. Besides the complicated relationship dynamic between them, their interests also differ. Meanwhile, the students inside the walls are living a completely different life. Unaware of the outside world and devoid of any lack of resources, they are living in contentment. Nevertheless, some cryptic instances keep happening all along, which connect both worlds.
The resemblance with Attack on Titan can be seen, as the premise is a little familiar. However, so far, the story has been intriguing enough to keep the audience hooked. The most interesting aspect of the show is that there are always underlying odd elements running along the main plotline that raises a lot of questions. The build-up is seamlessly being done, only future episodes will tell if it manages to keep up with the execution consistently.
