Blue Lock Episode 18 Preview: When, Where and How to Watch!

Blue Lock Episode 18 is the eighteenth episode of one of the most popular anime of this year. Blue Lock is a sports anime directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and Hisashi Toujima and is based on an original manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yuusuke Nomura. The series is being animated by Studio 8bit.

The show follows Yoichi Isagi, a talented but unrefined striker who gets the opportunity of a lifetime after being invited to compete for and inside the Blue Lock, where Japan’s most talented football strikers have all been gathered to compete against each other. Yoichi might not be the strongest, fastest, sturdiest, or most technically gifted out of all the candidates gathered, but he still has a skill that helps him keep up with the others.

The first selection process saw the strikers compete against each other in teams of 11, just as a standard football match would be. After learning about each other’s strengths and abilities, Yoichi and his teammates, including Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami, cleared the first selection successfully. However, a lot of football is still left to play, and many players are still left to defeat!

Blue Lock Episode 18 Plot

The setup for this has been amazing, and the payoff needs to also live up to the mark. Barou has been taken to the brink of desperation by Yoichi and Nagi’s reasonable response to his dumb football style, and it is nigh time that we clear this storyline up. Yoichi and Nagi’s team are down a goal, and just one goal away from losing again and moving to the 2v2 stage, but they have a winning formula this time around- just don’t pass to Barou.

Blue Lock Episode 18 Characters

Barou is such an idiot that his team are having to play around his blockheadedness to try and salvage this match. Perhaps this episode will be about his redemption and learning to play with others to achieve victory, but not learning anything and sticking to his guns are just as likely options. That is the way he was written to act like, and he has shown no signs of changing so far. Whatever happens, it is going to be a logical ending to Barou’s story.

Blue Lock Episode 18 Predictions

Yoichi manages to convince Barou to pass to Nagi for the final goal as Team White wins and picks Chigiri to be a part of their team. The four of them then go on to challenge the team that beat Yoichi and Nagi in the first place- Itoshi Rin and the gang.

Blue Lock Episode 17 Recap

Yoichi’s team suffers a major setback at the start as Barou is completely marked by Kunigami and is too selfish to pass and make his team win instead of just him. Nagi and Yoichi finally realise that it would be much better to play without Barou and use just their talents to try and secure the victory, and are able to do surprisingly well with that. Yoichi also has another revelation- Barou’s actions are extremely predictable and thus very easy to make plans out of.
