Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 9 is now out! Developed by Joshua Safran for HBO Max, the show serves as the reboot, an extension and a standalone sequel to The CW series of the same name that was based on the novel series written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Original series co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage return as executive producers for the extension along with Safran, who is also the showrunner.
The ninth episode of Gossip Girl Season 2 is directed by Joshua Safran and written by Eric Eidelstein. The episode is titled ‘I Know What You Did Last Summit.’ The runtime for the episode is 50-60 minutes, much like the previous episodes.
The main cast for Gossip Girl Season 2 includes Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway, Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott, Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller, Eli Brown as Obie, Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe, Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope, Evan Mock as Aki Menzies, Johnathan Fernandez as Nick Lott, Adam Chanler-Berat as Jordan Glassberg, Zión Moreno as Luna La, Savannah Lee Smith as Monet de Haan, Luke Kirby as Davis Calloway, John Benjamin Hickey as Roy Sachs, Amanda Warren as Camille de Haan, Anna van Patten as Grace Byron, Todd Almond as Gideon Wolfe and Grace Duah as Shan Barnes. The OG narrator Kristen Bell continues to be the Gossip Girl voice for this season too.

Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 9: I Know What You Did Last Summit
Somewhere with Georgina leaving and Kata’s Gossip Girl losing all her spark to elicit appropriate controversies, we knew somewhere that Gossip Girl Season 2 would surely fail. Episode 9 of the series is solid proof of that with haywire and uninteresting storylines dragging itself to make the show survive its last few releases.
In the ninth episode of Gossip Girl, we have multiple things happening all at once. We discover that there is a bounty on Gossip Girl’s head by the de Haans which keeps Kate away from making posts as she will be caught she feels. Meanwhile, due to the tiff between Audrey and Julien worsening, the latter is determined to seek revenge on the social media persona responsible for it all. However, the steps Julien takes to catch GG just put her in the bad books of her friends as she crosses all boundaries and steps in their shoes which is not her place to be at.
Amidst all this, we have a summit taking place that becomes the peak where all the unnecessary chaos unleashes. Everyone’s lives are left messed up and, we soon enough see even Zoya joining Julien’s league to exact revenge because of the trauma and insult that Kate’s post brings to her father. Even Audrey, Aki and Max’s relationship faces a disruption after Max confesses his love for the two but, ends up feeling lonelier than ever due to what Kate does.

We also have Obie getting quite a significant storyline in the last few episodes involving his mother. But, it turns out that he has been played all along to be pitted against his mother by someone else close enough to do it.
Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 9: Final Thoughts
At this point, watching Gossip Girl Season 2 is a tiresome task. You would almost feel like skipping through most of the parts only to reach an end that is as disappointing as the entire episode with nothing to hold onto as you look forward to the next one. The first season and, even the first half of the second season, till the time we saw Julien and Monet really taking good leading reigns for the show, it was good. But, suddenly the waters changed and now all there is left is a soft flow where you are drowning in content that does not quip anyone’s interest.
