Sharper Trailer: Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan’s Dangerous Game of Secrets and Lies

Sharper is an upcoming satirical thriller movie starring Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan in the lead roles. Directed by Golden Globe and Emmy winner Benjamin Caron, the plot will centre around a con artist and his mother’s journey from rags to riches. The film hails from Hailing from Apple Original Films and A24 Studios.

The rest of the supporting and recurring cast includes Justice Smith, Briana Middleton, John Lithgow, Hannah Dunne, Giullian Yao Gioiello, Phillip Johnson Richardson, Kerry Flanagan, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Tom White, Patrick Cooley, Blaise Corrigan, Tracey Ilgner, Samara Joy, Paul Sikivie, Sullivan Joseph Fortner Jr., Doris McCarthy, and more.

Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka have the writing credits, and Charlotte Bruus Christensen is the cinematographer. Clint Mansell gives the music.

The two-minute and twenty-five-second-long trailer gives us an overview of what the movie will be about. The clip opens with Ariana Grande’s song, 7 Rings which instantly sets a spine-chilling atmosphere. Instantly we are introduced to the lead characters Max, a con artist and Madeline his mother. Max gets himself into a complicated situation when he fails to fool a billionaire, and he is caught by none other than his mother.

It is established that the relationship between the mother and son is strained and complex. A few minutes in, we also get to see that Madeline forms a romantic relationship with the same billionaire that her son tried to steal money from, Richard Hobbes. Richard is also facing a similar situation as Madeline, as his relationship with his son is also unhealthy.

The couple forms an intimate connection with each other based on their past, but things are not as simple as they seem. A whirlpool of tricky situations starts to arise further down the road. The family drama is filled with lies and deceit as they try to achieve their individual objectives.

The character-driven story of different people will be an exciting watch. From the looks of the trailer, the movie looks exciting, and the audience is showing their anticipation as well.

Sharper will be premiering in selected theatres on February 10, 2023, and will premiere on Apple TV+ on February 17, 2023.
