– The Interest of Love Episode 6 Recap Contains Spoilers –
The Interest of Love episode 6 starts with a rundown of Su-yeong giving it her best to get out of the rut that was her life. She was discriminated against from the first – an outsider. But in the present, she isn’t someone who will take things lying down – after the meeting fiasco, she apparently reported Shi-kyung, and that’s what brought on the audit investigation.
Not shockingly, the entire office, of course, takes Shi-kyung’s side and goes as far as to blame Su-yeong for reporting the boss. Just as Su-yeong comes into the space, Shi-kyung also appears and comes charging towards her. Sang-su steps up this time and stops him in his tracks. He asks him to calm down before saying anything, and a shocked Shi-kyung asks Su-yeong to meet him at his office.

In Shi-kyung’s office, he asks her to redact her statement immediately, and she, in turn, asks him to apologise. She mentions how he never respected her, and that’s why, even though she had the highest performance, she always received the lowest bonus. She goes on to return the money that Shi-kyung gave him over the years and again asks him to apologise to her.
Sang-su tries to get a word in with Su-yeong, asking her what they talked about. However, she refuses to get into it and goes on to assure him that she will take care of everything. She, surprisingly, is warmer to Jong-hyeon, whose concern she replies to with a heartwarming smile. Later on, a sweet Mi-gyeong saves Su-yeong from further harassment by their colleagues and takes her to a crafts shop to relieve some stress.
It is here that Su-yeong tells Mi-gyeong that she has a boyfriend and the latter immediately assumes that it’s Sang-su since he helped her previously. However, Su-yeong quashes her clear worry and tells her that it’s Jong-hyeon. The relief that washes over Mi-gyeong’s face is almost hilarious.

Either way, that night, Sang-su comes across Su-yeong still working away in the filing room. In a rather tense and charged scene, the two of them start to get their things when all of a sudden, the lights go off, and the two find themselves locked inside. They decide to wait, and in the midst of trying to find the light switch, they get closer to each other. With neither eye breaking the gaze, the atmosphere is heavy with attraction.
However, the two of them take this moment of alone time to talk to each other about their feelings and apologise. She tells him to find someone who can fulfil his dreams and informs him that she has met someone like that as well. The lights come on soon enough, and the two of them get out of the bank. At the bus stop, it almost seems like things might just be good between the two, although Sang-su still pines for her somewhat.

Meanwhile, Su-yeong meets Jong-hyeon and goes on a date. The vibe between the two of them is just so easy and warm that it will melt anyone’s heart. Jong-hyeon is almost too good to be true, and it’s great to watch him picking up on the smallest of things about Su-yeong. He even buys her a new pair of shoes and asks her to call him whenever she’s having a rough day.
The next morning at the office, after their meeting, Shi-kyung surprisingly thanks Su-yeong for organising the filing room and apologises for his actions in front of everyone. The office is left shocked and impressed, and her two colleagues come clean about taking her side in front of the audit people. However, as it turns out, it was Sang-su’s tip that ultimately got Shi-kyung caught – he complained about the boss embezzling operating expenses.
Unfortunately for Sang-su, he witnesses Su-yeong and Jong-hyeon getting a bit friendly on the road, and his heart shatters further when Mi-gyeong sees them and confirms that they are together.

The next work day, Sang-su wows Mi-gyeong’s father and then goes out with her. Meanwhile, Su-yeong and Jong-hyeon look like they are absolutely and truly in love. Mi-gyeong and Sang-su engage in some general cuteness in the back of a tow truck.
As the day of Jong-hyeon’s exam approaches, Su-yeong makes a grand feast for him. With a full stomach, he goes for the exam but afterwards receives a tragic news of some sort. Thus, Su-yeong is left shocked the next day when she sees Jong-hyeon is nowhere to be seen, and there’s a substitute in his place. She frantically tries to get in touch with him, but to no avail.
Inside the office, the drama hits an all-time high when Shi-kyung’s wife and mistress meet in his cabin.
The Interest of Love Episode 6 Ending
Either way, that night, Sang-su and Mi-gyeong go out for a jog, during which she asks him out on a date, and he agrees. On the other hand, Su-yeong finally gets in touch with Jong-hyeon, who tells her that the tension of the exam pushed him over the edge for a bit. In the end, he asks her to break up.
The Interest of Love Episode 6 Review

Well, what a confusing turn of events. I am weirdly enjoying this oddly torturous show that goes up and down with its principal characters and constantly keeps them under stress.
It’s an interesting look at relationships and how people react to those around them and their situations. While there are some humorous moments, the episode was mostly tense and with some moments of triumph.
As for Su-yeong and Sang-su, we finally see them going somewhere with their issues, apologising to each other and understanding themselves a bit. It’s a shame to see Su-yeong’s genuine happiness be taken away from her in such a manner, but without knowing why this is happening, it’s difficult to make a judgement against Jong-hyeon.
On the other hand, Mi-gyeong seems to be very clever for her own good. I feel like her cleverness is going to come back to her badly in some way or the other. Is she truly nice, or is she manipulative? We’ll just have to wait and watch.
The Interest of Love is streaming on Netflix.
