7 Worst Anime Of 2022 That Did Not Meet Our Expectations: The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2, Futsal Boys!!!!! and More

Even though 2022 was the year for one of the best lineups of animes, we still got some shows that did not exactly meet our expectations. Whether it was in the department of animation or the plot, they failed to hold the audience’s attention.

Some of these picks might be shows you have liked, but that doesn’t change how many anime fans felt that they lacked something that the other shows did not. So without further ado, let us jump right into this article that shows the worst anime of 2022 that shockingly became a disappointment.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2

Considering how famous The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 1 was, it is definitely a sad fact that the second season was nowhere near its predecessor.

When this show first arrived, it showed us how it could be different from the masses, which added to the popularity of this franchise. But all the high expectations that fans had from the second season were squashed by the makers when they turned this one into the same-old generic isekai that comes out every year in bulk. It is available on Crunchyroll.

Requiem of the Rose King

The manga fans of this shoujo anime were truly disappointed with this less-than-appropriate adaptation. There were two glaring problems with this anime that we could not get past.

First was the unsatisfactory animation and then the poor pacing of the story. Plus, the anime cuts most of the essential incidents and details of the manga that is core to the plotline. It is available on Crunchyroll.

Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja

This is a great example of an isekai anime gone wrong. The storyline is just outright boring without any clarity towards whatever is happening in this world. Not only that, but the wretched animation with endless still frames definitely hurts the spectator’s experience.

Most importantly, the characters are not memorable at all, and you hardly see any development in their personality. It is available on Crunchyroll.

Futsal Boys!!!!!

Still From Futsal Boys!!!!!

With this series, one thing is for sure, using more exclamation marks doesn’t guarantee a good sports anime. This story is pretty bland, almost copy-pasting from every sports anime out there and still executing it inadequately.

There is also no character development, and you will remember a very beloved sports duo whenever you watch Sakaki and Yamato interact. It is available on Crunchyroll.

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

Still From Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

When the news of this anime adaptation of the beloved manga of the same name was announced, fans were beyond ecstatic. But sadly, the anime turned out to be a complete miss rather than a hit because of poor production from its studios.

The animation is awful, with some of the worst usages of CG ever, and it just ruins your visual experience from the beginning. The writing lacked as well, as they left out many important parts from the manga. It is available on Crunchyroll.

Fanfare of Adolescence

This is another sports anime that did not work for many. The developments of the vital characters of the show were not satisfactory, and in pursuit of drama, many essential aspects of the plot were left unexplored.

But it was not all bad, the animation is okay, and if you are really into horse racing, you can give this show a watch. It is available on Crunchyroll.

In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki

This anime was not terrible, but just disappointing. If you have watched Teasing Master Takagi-san, it is only natural that you will have great expectations from this anime as they share the creator.

But sadly, this one fails to be as funny as it claims. It is not unwatchable, and even though the comedy did not work for many, it can work for others. It is available on Crunchyroll.
