Andor Finale Ending Explained: What Happens to Cassian on Ferrix? Who Gets Out Alive?

Andor Episode 12 marks the season finale and is finally out which has left fans dumbfounded. Created by Tony Gilroy, the prequel series to the 2016 Star Wars spin-off Rogue One has Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff and Beau Willimon as the writers for the show.

The show has an ensemble cast that has Diego Luna reprising his role of Cassian Andor aka Kassa along with Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Joplin Sibtain as Brasso, James McArdle as Timm Karlo, Rupert Vansittart as Chief Hyne, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Fiona Shaw as Maarva Andor, Alex Ferns as Sergeant Linus Mosk, Gary Beadle as Clem Andor, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma and Denise Gough as Dedra Meero. The runtime of the twelfth episode is 54 minutes.

The finale episode is titled ‘Rix Road’ and the synopsis reads – “Targeted by numerous interests, the fugitive Cassian returns home to Ferrix, a tinderbox that is experiencing a spark of rebellion.”

Andor Episode 12 Ending Explained

During Andor Episode 12, we see how the hologram-ed speech by a now-dead Maarva ignites chaos which provides Cassian with the perfect chance to escape and save Bix. However, rescuing Bix from the IBS invites a lot of trouble and one unprecedented one from Luthen, whose mission is to be on Ferrix at the same time as Cassian was nothing more than to kill Cassian as Luthen is scared that Cassian will out of the Rebellion for money to the Empire.

But, when the two cross paths, Cassian suggests something that builds the perfect foundation for his character in Rouge One, the one that we have seen and known through and through a rebel spy and skilled assassin. Cassian asks Luthen to take him in and make him a part of the Rebellion and make him an agent, a good and fair deal.

So, after making sure that his loved ones are off Ferrix, Cassian decides to stay back as he wants to very much be a part of the Rebellion and actively work with them.

The final moments of Andor, of course, are the reason why people are going crazy. A post-credit scene pops in at the end of the episode that features the Death Star being built from the materials made by the prisoners in Narkina Five. This could very much be the show trying to hint us towards a second season or just plainly showing us the exact timeline and relationship of the Death Star to Andor.
