Alchemy of Souls season 2 is coming closer as we approach the end of this month and we are all looking forward to the show’s return because we have some serious questions that need answers. Starring Lee Jae-wook, Go Yoon-jung, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seong-ho, alongside other cast members, the Kdrama is created by Park Joon-hwa, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.
tvN is already dropping some exciting hints for Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, from posters to teasers to stills, the sneak peeks we indulge in these days make us eager for the show and this is no less than torture for us. But that doesn’t mean that we aren’t secretly enjoying these teasers of the upcoming season.
However, what comes with all these teasers are questions for the upcoming season as we start making connections to the first season. So while we enjoy these hints and surround ourselves with endless questions, let us focus on the 3 important questions that we have for the upcoming season.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2: 3 Answers We Want
Who Saved Naksu and Why?
One of the biggest mysteries that Alchemy of Souls season 1 ended with was the people who saved the drowning Mu-deok from the lake. The two people two jumped right after Mu-deok to save her were definitely a shocker for us all, but with that came a sense of relief until reality hit us right in the face.
But moving on from that, what was their objective to save Mu-deok aka Naksu and how did she go back to her original body? Looking at some of the teaser stills, it seems like Seo Yul is close to Naksu after the 3 years gap which does give us the impression that he may have saved her. But there are others too who could have saved her and this answer will only be found when the show starts again.
How Did Jang Uk Change in These 3 Years?
From all the stills and teasers that we’ve got till now, one thing is for sure- we have lost the fun and witty Jang Uk who has become shrouded in darkness after what happened. But it also looks like he holds a power that is able to bring fear to the royal family.
The final episode of season 1 ended with his last rites not being held in a proper manner as he has been labelled a traitor who helped an assassin. However, the new teasers bring a powerful Jang Uk who is not just able to roam around freely, but even the crown prince has to be careful in front of him who is able to lift his sword against him so easily.
What Happens to Seo Yul?
The final mystery is about Seo Yul who has a blood worm inside his body that brings unbearable pain to the young mage who is now being eaten from the inside. While the teasers show his tears while he hugs Naksu, one of the reasons could be that he is aware of what is happening to him and knows that his future is unpredictable at this point.
The worm will probably play a big role in locking Seo Yul as the second lead, so all those who are still wishing for a happy ending for him might not be happy with what is to come. But let us hope that he is at least left alive because I really don’t want to suffer from heartbreak in the upcoming season.
