When is Blonde Releasing on Netflix? All To Know About the Upcoming Marilyn Monroe Biopic

Blonde is Netflix’s hottest new movie starring Ana de Armas as the iconic film star Marilyn Monroe. The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel by author Joyce Carol Oates of the same name. It takes us through the entirety of her life right from stories about her family, her glamorous career in Hollywood to her extremely controversial and public demise. The movie will be streaming on Netflix this week on the 28th of September, 2022.

Due to the larger-than-life image of the star as well as the tumultuous life she had lived. It’s no surprise that there was a fair amount of controversy regarding who will fill the star’s big shoes. Many people began to criticize and question the director’s choice by stating that the actress Ana de Armas is unable to embody the essence of the star due to her thick Cuban accent. However, the creators of the film as well as the cast continued to stand by Ana as their showrunner.

The film is directed by Andrew Dominick who has previously directed films like Killing Them Softly and The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford. The Cast includes Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe, Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller, Sara Paxton as Miss Flynn, Bobby Cannavale as Joe DiMaggio, Casper Phillipson as John F. Kennedy, Xavier Samuel as Charlie Chaplin Jr., Julianne Nicholson as Gladys Pearl Baker.

This is not the first time for a filmmaker to attempt to adapt her life story. Simon Curtis previously made My Week with Marilyn starring Michelle Williams as the legendary star. However, Dominick plans to do a deep dive into Monroe’s life right from her relationship with her actress mother Gladys Pearl Baker to her entering the showbiz and getting her big break in the movies and the series of ups and downs that follow as she rapidly grew her stardom. The trailer itself is very promising and gives us a quick glimpse at all the pivotal moments of the actress’s life.

Blonde Sypnosis

This is a story that has been publicised and analyzed for years. The generation that grew up with her admired her for her fashionable looks, iconic dialogues and her naive charm. Even people that disliked her couldn’t ignore her existence. To this day, we see her portraits hanging in people’s homes. The question is how do you say something new and meaningful about a figure whose life has been dissected and gossiped about for decades? We can’t wait to find out more this week.
