Under Fire: Has Netflix Renewed or Cancelled the Flemish Drama?

Under Fire might not have been the most impressive Netflix release of the month but, it has attracted enough attention for people to pose the question if there will be Under Fire Season 2 on the way soon. Also known as Onder Vuur, the show has been directed by Joost Wynant and produced by Geronimo for the VRT. There are a total of ten episodes, each with a runtime of 40-50 minutes.

Under Fire stars Sahin Avci as Gio Kaplan, Wouter Bruneel as Boris Weber, Lien De Graeve as Dominique Meersman, Piet De Praitere as Gilbert Gesquiere, Maarten Boilers as Vincent Knockaert, Sam Louwyck as Patrick Sinnaeve, Alessia Sartor as Nina Gonzales, Louis Talpe as Orlando Fonckea, Ann Tuts as Noelle Hauspie, Dirk Van Dyck as Henri Maenhout, Lynn Van Royen as Maaike De Boel, Aime Claeys as Tom Lateur, Maimouna Badjie as Jitske Van den Heuvel, Ilse de as Koe Kathryn and Kasper Vandenberghe as Steve. Eric Godon, Matthieu Sys, Mathias Sercu and Katelijne Verbeke are also part of the cast.

The series revolves around a group of firefighters stationed at the Oosteroever Fire Station in Ostend. We witness how the change of the in charge of the station leaves the squad scattered and dishevelled and the arrival of a new officer poses a problem of adjusting and more. With personal problems that the firefighters face in their personal lines, Under Fire serves us some good drama and action as the story progresses. However, if there will be a season two for the show still remains a question that we are here to answer.

When Will Under Fire Season 2 Release?

As the show is a recent release, there have been no updates on Under Fire Season 2 yet. But, like always, Netflix is keen on renewing the series if it performs well and gets a good number of views overall. Presently, the show is getting a mixed reception with the audiences praising the narrative and style of storytelling but, feeling like certain subplots have been unnecessary addition to the show, making it a tiresome watch.

As per the pattern that Netflix follows, it might take over a month for the OTT giant to confirm the renewal or the cancellation of the show. However, it leaves us with open interpretation and you can comment on what you think should happen to the series down below!
