Ainz has headed out for another war in Overlord Season 4 Episode 7, with noble intentions in mind. Let’s see just how badly he destroys them in this review!
Overlord Season 4 Episode 7 Overview

The original, actually good MMO-based isekai show is back for its fourth season with Overlord Season 4. The series is again being produced by Studio Madhouse, which has produced all of the previous seasons of the show alongside other highly popular shows such as Death Note, One Punch Man, and Sonny Boy. This new season is also referred to as Overlord 4 and Overlord IV.
Naoyuki Itou is directing the show again. He is known for also being behind all of the original seasons alongside several other well-known shows such as Chihayafuru and Kanon. Overlord is based on a Light Novel written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by “so-bin”. This episode is also known as Overlord 4 Episode 7 and Overlord IV Episode 7. Overlord Season 4 Episode 7 Review- A Cakewalk

This episode was an extremely easy watch. Too easy, in fact. So easy that it will barely feel like you’ve watched anything after you’re done watching this. Barely anything even happened here that you didn’t expect or haven’t seen in every season twice. One could make an argument that this was the most “Overlord” out of every episode we have seen so far, and we have all seen a whole lot of Overlord, seeing as we are all on Season 4 now. One could predict how this episode would go beat for beat, and it wouldn’t even be that big of an achievement.

I named the review section that because this is what it was always going to be. The Quagoa posed no challenge to Ainz and were lower on the totem pole than every other enemy Ainz had ever conquered. However, they did have dragons with them to help them conquer the fortress from the dwarves. Surely, the most majestic and famous of all the magical creatures, whose entire species is known to be among the strongest in almost every form of media that they appear in, are going to pose a little challenge to the power of even the strongest of magicians?

Nope. It took Ainz less time to defeat and subdue them than it takes him to ask Pandora’s actor not to be the way he is. He practically strolls over to them, asks them to give up or die, and you know what happens afterwards. There is no thrill of the ride, no joy of the battle, no spoils of war, and no tangible growth for any of the characters anywhere in Overlord Season 4 Episode 7; some can even argue this applies to the series as a whole. Most of it is just Momonga trampling over everywhere, getting himself known as the most fearsome warlord in the world, and stumbling into everything he has ever gotten.

Usually, this is well hidden by the worldbuilding, the dialogue, the characters, or everything else that is great about the show. However, without any of those coming to the forefront this time around, the weaknesses of this series were left bare for everyone to see. Yes, there were some new characters, including the dragon NEET, who isn’t as interesting of an addition as the show wants him to be. The Quagoa were also extraordinarily weak, even for the kinds of enemies Ainz usually fights. This wasn’t a very good showing for any of them.

Shalltear’s redemption, if you can even call it that, has been very confusing and utterly needless for quite some time. If you want to make Shalltear a relevant character once again, this is not how you go about doing it. She feels more useless after this nothing-burger of a battle than she felt before it, as at least she had the aura of immense power and Ainz calling her the strongest floor guardian. Let’s all hope this was an off night for this show and not a long-term thing.
Overview
Overlord Season 4 Episode 7 was the show’s first miss in a long time. There was a lot wrong with it, and its worst elements were exposed in a very barebones episode. Let’s see where it goes from here.

The dynamic between Aura and Shalltear gets a little bit annoying.
However I did not understand the use of “Depiction of Nature and Society”. Why was it used against the Quagoa? How did it effect the Quagoa? They saw some fog and nothing else?
it was used to entrap all the Quagoa, bare in mind that the beings of nazerick take ainz orders to heart so when he said not all the quagoa he ment all, not a single one can escape, and thats exactly what she did… the fog is one of the worlds that Depiction of Nature and Society has, thats why the leader asked where they would run to
