Uncoupled is the latest romantic comedy series released on Netflix, starring Neil Patrick Harris as Michael Lawson, Tisha Campbell as Suzanne Prentiss, Brooks Ashmanskas as Stanley James, Emerson Brooks as Billy Burns, Marcia Gay Harden as Claire Lewis and Tuc Watkins as Colin McKenna, Michael’s ex-boyfriend.
The series follows Michael who thought his life was perfect until his partner blindsides him by walking out the door after 17 years. Overnight, Michael has to confront two nightmares, losing what he thought was his soulmate and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.
Released last Friday, audiences got the best chance to binge-watch it over the weekend. With only 8 episodes, running for 30 minutes, people were soon hooked. Created by Jeffrey Richman and Darren Star, the show was instantly compared and called the ‘gay version’ of Sex and the City, due to some similarities.

While viewers are praising the series for its queer representation in an older age group, as compared to previous teen-based series on the platform. Some feel empathetic towards Michael’s situation as they have gone through the same or fear could happen to them as well. But above all everyone is asking for more after the cliffhanger ending.
At the end, when Michael finally accepts his breakup with Colin, that’s when his ex-boyfriend comes back and confesses that, ‘he might have made a mistake’. These words are everything that Michael was hoping for until now. The ending has left us all hanging to know what really happened in the end.
Also, Suzanne finding out the identity of Kai’s father is also not revealed, leaving a lot of questions in the audience’s mind. Looking at the popular demand for Uncoupled Season 2, the creators should get on to developing another season. Fans are especially praising Neil Patrick Harris for his exceptional performance and the comedic elements Tisha Campbell brought to the show, got many lauding the actress for her skills.
