The Perfect Mother (Une mère parfaite): Everything to Know About the French Thriller

Netflix has been coming up with innumerable thrillers to keep viewers invested in the month of June. One such title is the French mystery-thriller The Perfect Mother or Une mère parfaite, which looks absolutely promising and will definitely keep your eyes glued till the end.

Adapted from Nina Darnton’s novel of the same name, The Perfect Mother is a mini-series consisting of 4 action-packed episodes. The series is created by Carol Noble and Thomas Boulle and is directed by Frédéric Garson. It first aired in Belgium in August 2021 and then in France in April 2022. The book, and by extension the series, is a fictional recreation of the Amanda Knox case.

The series stars Julie Gayet, Andreas Pietschmann, Eden Ducourant and Maxim Driesen as the titular Berg family as well as Tomer Sisley as Vincent Duc, a lawyer and Helena’s former lover who works with her to uncover the truth.

The Perfect Mother Plot

Netflix describes the series as: “Convinced of her daughter’s innocence in a homicide, a devoted mother soon uncovers unsettling truths as the line between victim and perpetrator blurs.”

The series follows Helena as her world turns upside down when her daughter, a student in Paris, is accused of Damien Carnau’s murder, who turns out to be the heir to a fortune. She travels to Paris to get her daughter back but when she and her high school sweetheart Vincent start to do their own investigation, they realise that the truth might not be that simple. Will Helene be able to save her daughter? Did Anya really kill someone?

Une mère parfaite Release Date, Episode List and Trailer

Une mère parfaite will release on Netflix internationally on June 3 and comes with 4 episodes, each with a runtime of around 50 minutes.
