Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Benedict Cumberbatch Calls it “Unfathomably Exciting”

We are just less than a month away from watching Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the theatres. It is the fifth film from MCU’s Phase 4. The Marvel film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor. For the past few days, the makers have been dropping promos to keep the excitement going on. A few hours ago, they dropped brand new posters.

The new character posters feature Benedict as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth as Wanda, Benedict as Wong, Xochitl as America Chavez, Chiwetel as Baron Mordo and Rachel as Christine. In these posters, they all look intense, with their faces partly covered with Wanda’s red energy powers.

Along with the posters, Marvel also shared a video in which Benedict Cumberbatch shares his thoughts on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The actor says, “It is pretty unfathomably exciting where we are going in this film. It’s the most fantastic new phase of Marvel. It’s got a sort of darker tone to it. And with Sam Raimi at the helm, you know he’s a master of that.”

Elizabeth Olsen says, “In this story, we are leaping into different universes. But unlocking the multiverse creates a big Pandora’s box.”

“We’re in unknown territory. I think audiences are going to be startled. These other realities invite a plethora of all these new characters,” adds Benedict Wong.

Director Sam Raimi also shared his thought on the Marvel film. Raimi shared, “Telling this story was such a gigantic endeavor. It had to be large because it had to notonly paint a picture of our universe, but of multiple universes. It was a great opportunity to pair two of the most powerful superheroes together.”
