While the conduct of some Hollywood celebrities — Sean “Diddy” Combs and Harvey Weinstein among them — can make the industry seem like a dangerous place, the behavior of stars such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Adam Sandler is a reminder that decency still exists amid the excess and glamour for which Hollywood is known.
1. Taylor Swift
On the subject of Swift, Fran Weinstein, who spent three decades behind the camera at “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider,” recalls knowing from the moment she sat down with the young singer that something was different about her. “Taylor Swift was class,” Weinstein said. “This is a girl [who] was well raised.” Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, and when she was 13, her parents sold their family farm and moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, so she could pursue a career in country music in nearby Nashville. She has consistently maintained a positive public image throughout her career.
Elaborating on what set Swift apart, Weinstein added: “She was well-mannered, always turned out beautifully [and] respectfully answered all of your questions. She was really a star out of the gate.”
2. Adam Sandler
Next on the list is Adam Sandler, who — despite often playing outlandish characters on screen — is known to be remarkably grounded and down-to-earth in person. He has frequently been spotted stopping to take photos with fans and sign autographs. By most accounts, he is among the rare celebrities who understand that his stardom exists because of the people who show up to watch his films.
3. Jennifer Garner
Garner has earned a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most genuinely likable stars. She has been widely praised for the warmth and openness she brings to interviews, and her dedication as a mother has only added to that image. While her on-screen persona as a spy on ABC’s “Alias” initially made viewers both enamored and a little intimidated, director Peter Berg, who met Garner when he guested on the series, described her as “sweet, lovable, charming,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Over time, audiences came to see that the woman behind the action sequences was one of the most approachable people in the business.
4. Paul Rudd
Rudd is best known for playing Scott Lang/Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is another Hollywood star who has not let fame go to his head. The internet is filled with jokes about how Rudd never seems to age, but what stands out equally is the warmth and humor he consistently brings to interviews and public appearances — qualities that have made him a fixture on any list of Hollywood’s nicest celebrities.
5. Kelly Clarkson
This “American Idol” winner’s rise to fame is the stuff of dreams. The Fort Worth-born, Burleson-raised singer-songwriter first came to fame in 2002 as the winner of the inaugural season of “American Idol.” Despite climbing steadily through the ranks of the music industry, Clarkson has never lost the down-to-earth quality that has defined her from the start. Colleagues and interviewers alike have noted that she treats everyone the same, regardless of their status — an authenticity that comes through just as clearly on her talk show.
In February 2026, Clarkson announced that the seventh season of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which premiered in September 2025, would be her last.
6. Chris Evans
Next on this list is another Marvel actor, Chris Evans. True to the Captain America persona he embodied for nearly a decade, Evans has repeatedly shown that his on-screen character is not so far removed from who he is in real life.
Evans is a supporter of Christopher’s Haven, a charity that provides housing to families affected by childhood cancer, and has taken part in fundraisers for the organization. In 2015, he and actor Chris Pratt visited patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital after the two made a bet that eventually raised donations for both the hospital and Christopher’s Haven.
7. Benedict Cumberbatch
Cumberbatch rounds out this list as another example of a Hollywood star who leads with genuine appreciation for his fans. He has long made clear that he understands his career exists because of the people who support it.
In a widely shared moment at San Diego Comic-Con, Cumberbatch went outside to meet fans who had spent the night waiting in line for Hall H. It was the kind of gesture that tends to stick with people long after the convention ends.
