Blue Period Episode 11 Overview
Blue Period is a slice of life drama anime brought to our screens by anime studio Seven Arcs, known for its slice of life and comedy shows such as Dog Days and Tonikaku Kawaii. The series is based upon a highly acclaimed manga penned by Tsubasa Yamaguchi. It is one of the most anticipated shows of the Fall 2021 season and an adaptation that has been highly waited upon for four years.
Koji Masunari and Katsuya Asano are directing the show, with Masunari serving as the chief director. He is a veteran of the industry, having been around for more than two decades and directing shows like Kamichu and Magi: The Kingdom of Magic. Blue Period Episode 11 Review- The Stress Of Chasing Your Dream
There are many symptoms and adverse effects of taking a lot of stress. They are, including but not limited to pain, sleeplessness, nausea, lack of focus, and in some extreme cases, loss of consciousness and senses. It inflicts millions of people every year, with thousands getting hospitalised and treated for it. It is exceptionally common among children with exams on their heads and expectations of their families in their hearts.

We saw our protagonist, Yatora Yaguchi, go through many of these at the end of the last episode, and that particular moment was enough to make one wish that they were binging this series instead of watching it weekly so that they can get a resolution to all the hard work he has put in. I can assure you right now that he is able to continue, albeit with a lot more effort and fighting through his pain than you would have expected. I don’t consider this a spoiler because we wouldn’t be able to discuss this episode without this fact being out in the open.
Even so, after being in such a state, he still has to compete in an exam as tough as almost anything in the entire world, against people such as Yotasuke, whose abilities he respects the most out of his entire friend group and Kuwana, somebody who understands art much more than he does. He has to give his all to even have a chance at succeeding, and Blue Period Episode 11 does an admirable job in showcasing his desperation.

That’s not all Blue Period Episode 11 does well, though. It is able to portray the tense situation inside an exam hall better than almost any show that I’ve ever seen, and I believe that almost everyone in the world will be able to relate to that particular feeling. The music, the various animation techniques such as blackout and fading, and the overall atmosphere do a lot to elevate this episode from the usual drivel surrounding school life that anime usually gets.
The philosophy and the conclusions about the art of Blue Period can be really hit or miss, speaking as someone who can’t even draw a bird to save his life. The composition and challenges of Blue Period Episode 11 don’t hit as well as it has been during recent times. Hence, the episode comes across as a bit shallower than its predecessors. However, it is still a great watch aided by the sheer anxiety that it builds for exam time.
Blue Period Episode 11 is also aided by the comfortable presence of Ms Ooba, who might just overtake Korosensei in many lists for best anime teachers. She has a warm and reassuring presence about her, and you believe that she genuinely wants to help her students succeed in whatever they want with life. I wish I had a teacher like her, and you wish you did too. Her dealing with Sakuraba was very sweet and a high point of the episode.
Overall, while Blue Period Episode 11 didn’t make a lot of sense from the artistic side of things, everything else that it tried to do, it did very well. The tasteful portrayal of nudity, the expression of feelings, and the sheer tension of that examination room were all a sight to behold. It wasn’t ever going to achieve the heights of the last episode, but it did an admirable job in telling its story nonetheless.

Blue Period Episode 11 was a great effort by the series to round up many plot points that it had going on and construct a tense narrative with their help. With just one more episode to go, will the show be able to end on a high note?
