Hello Me is a South Korean TV series starring Kim Young-kwang, Choi Kang-hee, Eum Moon-seok and Kim Yoo-mi. The series is based on the 2011 novel Fantastic Girl by Kim Hye-jung. Hello Me episode 9 is directed by Lee Hyeon-Suk.

Want to be pleasantly surprised by a Hello Me episode that is through-and-through entertaining and good? Well, do I have news for you. Hello Me episode 9 is just that, with the series giving us more information about the characters for us to care about them and also introducing plots and situations that are deeply emotional to watch.
So, Hello Me episode 9 starts off with Yu-hyeon and Anthony battling for Ha-ni’s affection, but before they can satisfy their egos, they hear Ha-ni and Scarlett scream and see a ghost lurking about. The four of them go out to catch the intruder and soon realise that it’s their landlady’s daughter. With the mystery solved and new information in her hands, Ha-ni makes a sweet deal with the landlady. Later on, Yu-hyeon tells Anthony that he likes Ha-ni and will leave no stones unturned to win her affections.
As the Joa Confectionary competition looms near, Yu-hyeon and Ha-ni brainstorm what they want to do for it. As the two get to know each other more, Ha-ni sees a side of her partner that she hadn’t seen before, and realises that he’s capable of being mature when the situation requires it. During his scenes with Ha-ni, we also see Yu-hyeon’s feelings towards her clear on his face. His puppy dog eyes are enough to melt my heart and immediately got me shipping the two of them.
Scarlett, on the other hand, is as much of an immature brat as she was in her timeline. She refuses to understand that she is in the future and keeps on doing senseless stuff that is not expected from a 17-year-old living in the future. Anyway, Anthony decides to sign Scarlett on in hopes that that will bring Ha-ni closer to him because his feelings for her, too, are bubbling. Scarlett puts Anthony in his place when he tries to bully her which was quite funny to watch since you expect it to happen.
On the other hand, there’s more good news all around in Hello Me episode 9 with a new member about to enter the world. Oh Ji-eun gets to know that the pains that she has been experiencing are nothing but a little one blessing her life and it is here that we get to hear some backstory about it. It’s a tender moment and very sweet to watch.
Ha-ni’s grandma, however, is not doing that great, with her dementia growing worse as the time progresses. Before making the difficult decision to put her in a care facility, Ha-ni’s mother invites her to her sister’s place where to get together for dinner and to discuss the future. However, problems are just over the horizon and Ha-ni’s grandmother is suddenly nowhere to be found. There’s a sad moment on the street when Ha-ni and her mother find the old woman that can just make you a bit emotional.
At the end of Hello Me episode 9, Scarlett sneak into Ha-yeong’s apartment to see her grandmother and is shocked when the latter wakes up and recognises her.
This episode is quite satisfying, with every character getting a backstory and something to define who they are and why they behave the way they do. It makes the watching experience better and really embeds the audience into the story. Hopefully, the future episodes will continue to give us moments to hold on to.
