After Stray Kids’ comeback in 2022 with the song Maniac, the 8-member Kpop boy band is back with another banger. Their upcoming 5 STAR trailer dropped on April 27, 2023, and the 2-minute-long video raised not just fans’ anticipation but also their curiosity as the trailer looks extremely cryptic. All members introduce themselves merely in a word, and they are all in different locations with different vibes.
Here’s a breakdown of the trailer and the comeback date witness the boy band’s groove.
5 STAR Trailer Breakdown: Who Are These Young Men?
The trailer starts with Felix popping into the screen, staring at a candy machine while enjoying his lollipop. Just when we look at why he’s staring at the machine, the crop top guy vigorously shakes it. Thanks to his shuffle, a candy ball comes out of the machine, which he savours. After that, the happy pal walks on the pavement of an abandoned kind of place.
When he rests back on the wall, it tears apart, leading Felix to another spot. The wallpaper that Felix mistakenly tore reads, “I am ground.” After seeing this, a perplexed Felix looks at the camera and asks, “Introduce Myself? Whoever styled him needs a raise because, with a blue lens, blonde hair, crop coat top, and pants, he looks stunning.
Moving on, there’s a slight change in the music, and we find I.N at a Hall of Fame sort of location, running around. Similar to Felix, he looks at a sculpture where it’s written, “I am ground.” On reading this, he looks at the camera and says with a smirk, “But I’m I.N,” before bashing the sculpture to pieces.

We are then introduced to Changbin, looking all tough and moody. However, he tells the viewers that he is romantic and then proceeds to dance under the rain. He cuts a call at the phone booth and looks sad. Well, maybe someone triggered his bad-boy vibes because he punches the telephone and vandalises the street. Where is the romantic guy now?
Next, Hyunjin comes to the screen, and the music in the background seems pretty cold. Hyunjin looks like a fashion designer whose dresses are worn by headless mannequins. He then works on a tuxedo by brushing paint on it. After his artwork, he looks at the headless mannequins saying, “6 4 4,” and they all give him a thumbs up. Hmm, weird.
Han comes into the screen, staring at a huge whiteboard before ripping it to discover a painting of a train. He looks at it and then questions the viewers, “This isn’t it?” and proceeds to say, “Then I won’t do it.” Do what, Han? Do what? Just when the trailer and its cryptic messages keep increasing, the next member comes with another perplexing introduction.
Seungmin is at an open theatre surrounded by cars, but he is sitting inside a bulldozer’s bowl that’s loaded with popcorn. He says that he has won with a villainous look. Then Felix once again comes on screen, where he starts to dance on a busy road like a music conductor. He is still enjoying his lollipop.

Then Bangchan is introduced. He is seen carrying a timer bomb and setting it up against a piano that he ends up playing. Bangchan plays the keys with full passion and right one time moves away before the explosion. He grumpily asks the viewers, “What?”
Finally, Minho comes out of an ugly bathroom and looks into the mirror. He calls himself “cute” before showing his sarcastic face to the security who scans him. Finally, all of the members walk down a path with fire blazing from all sides.
5 STAR Trailer and Comeback Date
Honestly, this is one of the most confusing trailers one can ever see. When every member introduces themselves, there is a change in music with regard to the vibe they emit. Moreover, the questions and the statements they make are completely irrelevant and not cohesive. What exactly are Stray Kids planning? We totally don’t know.
