In Netflix’s newest Spanish action series 1992 (2024) review, we bring to you a look into what this show has to offer to viewers. The story follows a widow who is looking into her husband’s murder, only to get involved in a bigger scandal that shakes all of Spain. Alongside her is her husband’s friend, an ex-cop turned security guard who is an alcoholic. The series brings some interesting twists and turns, but overall, it looks like a mess that is being tried to be passed on as an action thriller.

1992 Review
Friday the 13th can be said to be a day of bad luck, and bad luck it is for Netflix’s 1992 (2024) as it brings everything that would leave the audience in a mess. The plot is simple- a widow looking for the reason why her husband was killed along with her husband’s friend who is an alcoholic, and obviously, he would put his life on the line to find out the truth because his friend practically changed his life.
The plot is simple and it could have been made into a very intriguing thriller, filled with a lot more suspense-filled twists and turns; instead, it was made into a show filled with horrifying murder scenes and a mix of mismatched elements for the plot. What begins as something intriguing soon turns into moments where you begin to question why are you even watching the show.
The plot slowly turns into something that is trying to gather everything it can to elongate the show into 6 episodes, which could have easily ended in way less than that. The unnecessary details added to the show really keep you annoyed and give you some cringe-worthy moments that really push the characters into a mess. They could have had a better development and ending but the creators chose to push them down a clichéd road.

Adding on is the final twist in the series and the way it was revealed. If it were really that easy then why on earth did it take so long for the characters to reach this point? Really! The way things develop in the final episode will make you want to quit the show right then and there. There are just too many things happening in this show and as the saying goes, too many cooks spoil the broth, the same happens right here.
Moving on, the actors have put up an interesting performance with the way their characters are being developed. They try their best to catch up with the shifting emotions and storyline, but even their performance is unable to save the show. However, even they weren’t at the best for most of the time as the way their dialogues were presented could have been much better if done right. But then again, the constant shift in the emotions in the series, what they have presented is a lot better, knowing that a lot could have gone wrong there too.
The chemistry between the main characters is smooth and well-done, giving you quite some relief during this show. But the storyline had to mess up their relationship, leaving viewers with mixed reactions towards their changing feelings and creating a mess. Finally, the cinematography could have been done a lot better and this series has truly been a disappointment in many ways.

Summing Up
1992 fails to deliver a plot that could have been a lot better than what was promised, however, it has created a mess that leaves us disinterested. Other than the performance by the actors, the show is a mess that you would be better off skipping on this one.
Watch 1992 on Netflix.
