Best Halloween Costumes Inspired by Celebrities: We are back in the time of year when dressing like you escaped a horror film, raided a fictional character’s wardrobe, or spent weeks perfecting your skills to match your favourite pop-culture reference is the goal. IT IS OCTOBER! We have an excuse to make dressing insane normal.
Best Halloween Costumes Inspired by Celebrities
Halloween costumes have fairly often put forward that the assignment is not always about looking “pretty”, but sometimes about being the reason everyone stops their conversation midway to discuss how you pulled off a certain look.
From recreating some iconic look to transforming into an anime character with accuracy, celebrities have given us a lot of inspiration over the years. Celebrities, of course, have been doing the job pretty well, and since we are in the time when they might soon start dropping new pictures of their Halloween looks, if your Halloween party is sooner and your HALLOWEEN MOODBOARD is sad and screaming for inspo, we have brought together 10 celebrity-inspired Halloween costumes worth looking at for your next spooky appearance.
Taraji P Henson
Taraji P. Henson in 2025 chose to serve a cultural reference so good that it perhaps made people revisit the original. She recreated the look worn by Jacket Jackson in the I Get Lonely MV.
Henson shared her tribute in 2025, recreating the music legend’s styling, hair and accessories. The look appears to celebrate Jackson’s visual era rather than a generic celebrity look with a recognisable name stapled. The costume can be your choice if playing the right playlist and making no attempt to be frightening is on your bucket list.
Lady Gaga
For Halloween 2025, Lady Gaga had a dramatic costume inspired by the “Garden of Eden”, completing the look with an elaborate floral corset gown, sculptural headpiece and a silver shovel. The three-dimensional floral embroidery flowing into a mermaid-style tulle skirt looked dreamy, and the look came after her song Garden of Eden was released in the same year.
Lady Gaga captioned her look as, “I’m the Garden of Eden (and its gardener). Happy Halloween to all the grave diggers.” Would this be an outfit you would casually throw on with a 20-minute notice? Absolutely NOT. So if you are planning to put up this costume as your Halloween costume this year, get your socks pulled up.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran dressed as Pennywise, the terrifying clown, last year, 2025, and the ginger hair did half the work it seemed and captioned his post as “In for a Penny”.
The finished look was far, far away from the friendly, guitar-carrying music guy, Ed Sheeran, that we are used to seeing, but the creepy clown styling made for a recognisable horror-inspired costume.
Megan Thee Stallion
Anime fans assemble!!
Megan Thee Stallion brought manga and anime into her Halloween 2025 by dressing like Choso from Jujutsu Kaisen. The costume featured the character’s recognisable facial markings, whitish robe, and used an animated background to bring the character-inspired photos to life.
The look seemed specific: it was not simply a dark outfit with dramatic eye makeup marketed as anime cosplay. The character details made the reference recognisable, and perhaps that is what a good fandom-inspired Halloween costume should be doing.
Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif’s Harley Quinn look from 2022 deserves a mention. The actor embraced the character with colourful styling, blonde pigtails, and colourful, playful makeup and a costume with a pink top and striped shorts paired with a jacket with multicolour details.
The look came around the promotions of her film, Phone Bhoot, making it a particularly fitting Halloween moment. This appears to be an excellent option for anybody who wants a costume that looks more mischievous than terrifying, and Harley Quinn can be adapted in different ways, depending on your preference for the version.
JADE
JADE transformed into Greta from Gremlins 2: The New Batch, wearing green makeup, a green wig, oversized ears and the distinctive leopard-print outfit, while Jordan Stephens joined in as Gimzo, completing the pop-culture moment.
Greta is the standard spooky season choice: she is glamorous and wonderfully specific, which makes an amazing option for anybody who wants their costume to do a little more than scream, “YAY, I WATCHED A HORROR FILM”.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum transformed into Medusa with green scales and prosthetics. The supermodel turned Greek mythology into a full-blown nightmare for the 2025 Halloween and hit the nail right on the head.
Janelle Monae
Halloween here was treated like an art form, and the transformation into the Cat in the Hat became a reminder of the Halloween season’s intensity. The look featured the character’s signature styling, oversized hat, whiskers and props, including a mechanical tail that made the costume feel like the character had stepped out of the Dr Seuss setup.
It was playful, theatrical and absurd in the best spooky manner. The character is also a brilliant reminder that Halloween actually does not have to be about dressing up as someone just scary; sometimes, you just need to be the most interesting and scary one.
Justin and Hailey Bieber
Couple costumes can be a little predictable, but family costumes have a different level of commitment attached. Justin and Hailey Bieber made Halloween a family affair in 2025, dressing as The Incredibles. The family wore red-and-black superhero outfits inspired by Pixar’s The Incredibles, complete with the logo and black eye masks.
The look was coordinated without being complicated.
Sonnalli Seygall
For a more desi horror reference on your Halloween moodboard, actor Sonnalli Seygall chose to dress as the iconic character of Monjulika, played by Vidya Balan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa or Nagavalli, played by Shobana in Manichitrathazhu, giving Halloween an Indian twist. The character celebrates an Indian horror reference, so if you want to turn away from the Western costumes this season, this can be your choice.
Which Inspo Would You Pick?
The celebrity Halloween costumes will urge you to recreate them immediately, whether that means turning up as an anime character, paying tribute to a legend or giving Indian horror its moment. There is a wide range of collections to choose from to get dressed up this Halloween.
You do not need a designer budget or a professional makeup team to make a costume memorable, but just the right reference you genuinely love and celebrities we look up to have already done it for us. With a few recognisable details and willingness to commit to the bit, your Halloween costume might come out perfect! But which one to choose depends on your style and preference.
What would you want to be this Halloween? Tell us in the comments.
I will go first… Monjulika!
