On July 11, 2023, ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Gyuvin was admitted to the hospital for some health problems. While the band had just released their debut Extended Play, this news will probably set the band back for a while because they can only attend events and performances as a group once their band member gets better. The band’s parent agency WAKEONE shared this news on the official Twitter handle that the artist had not been feeling well and was taken to the hospital as a consequence.
According to them, he had been feeling dizzy and is currently under observation by the doctors and other hospital staff. This has also prompted the agency to comment that they will be moving around the schedule and working around this issue to make sure that all of the members in the band are healthy and can contribute meaningfully to any engagement they have to attend. Apart from this, the agency hasn’t shared any detailed news as to what happened to the singer.
Their debut EP, titled Youth in the Shade, just came out on July 10, 2023, at 06:00 PM KST or 02:30 PM IST. The same night, the artist was reported feeling unwell. Even since then, the social media channels haven’t slowed down. The Twitter page has posts showing that there will be photocard signing events, and the band is expected to participate in the MNET M Countdown as well. However, it is unclear whether they will be performing in person or just entering their single and music to the show.
They have shared a pre-recording schedule with a link giving fans an opportunity to buy tickets and attend the event. It is possible then that the artist is not that sick, considering they are okay with planning events for July 12, 2023, at 10:00 PM KST. If they are performing at this event, they will be singing and dancing to their lead single, In Bloom. Out of the six songs in the EP, this is the only one for now that has a music video. The other songs on the EP include, Back to ZEROBASE, New Kidz on the Block, And I, Our Season and Always.

Kim Gyuvin was initially on the reality survival series titled, Boys Planet, where he ranked 7th, ushering him to become a member of the band ZEROBASEONE. They are a nine-member group that debuted the day before yesterday (July 10, 2023) and includes members Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu Vin, Park Gun-wook and Han Yu-jin. They have a contract with WAKEONE till January 2026.
ZEROBASEONE’s Debut EP, Youth in the Shade, is currently available to stream on Spotify and other music streaming platforms.
