Courtiers rejoice! Netflix recently shared the news that production has started on Young Royals Season 3 in a video shared on their official YouTube channel. This Swedish show was created by Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung and Camilla Holter. This teen romance stars Edvin Ryding, Omar Rudberg, Malte Gårdinger, Nikita Uggla, Tommy Wättring, Frida Argento, Fabian Penje, Ivar Forsling, Felicia Truedsson, Nils Wetterholm, Samiel Astor, Pernilla August, Beri Gerwise, Uno Elger, Nathalie Varli, Mimmi Cyon and Carmen Gloria Pérez, alongside other cast members.
Young Royals follows a wayward prince Wilhelm as he is forced to go to private school after a personal debacle but finds love in a boy who has never seen anything like his lifestyle before. The duo not only have to navigate love but also the perils of being in the public eye as queer people. In the video Netflix has shared of the cast members, we see them all hugging each other and creating a mini reunion welcoming the old cast members in this much-needed interaction.
Furthermore, we also see most of the cast members around a round table with their scripts which also suggests that the table reads have started, and our protagonists have an idea of what is coming next for these lovable characters and how the final season will be ending for those hoping to find a new life after this school. We also see some members of the crew joining in from Zoom, which indicates that the process is starting in full swing.
Netflix also shares how some of the cast members have started to look at the wardrobe on the side, while others sit around the table before the reading starts to catch up with each other after having spent some significant time apart following the last season. The director and writers lead the room, while others pay attention raptly but also radiate excitement for what is about to come soon. The actor who plays the protagonist shares that the first episode is going to wow people, already teasing an explosive final instalment to this saga.

This little behind-the-scenes clip is enough to get fans excited about all the content coming soon. Audiences have been excited to see the journeys of these characters, going from closed off and rude to vulnerable and loving, without losing touch with their specific character traits. After the last season ended with August being revealed as the person who leaked the tape, this next season will definitely feature some of that tension. It is still reassuring that Simon and Wilhelm are back after a period of separation and hopefully remain the same way.
