When Life Gives You Tangerines Volume 3 Reactions: A Mix of Emotions and a Punch of Nostalgia Hits Fans Once Again

With another week gone of the Top Korean drama starring IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri and Park Jae-hoon, When Life Gives You Tangerines Volume 3 reactions are here and we can say, this show is only getting better and better. With various emotions playing out through episodes 9 to 12, this previous week has been able to carry on the beauty of the show that we have felt right from the beginning. Fans awed at the standard set by Gwan-sik and the wonderful Ae-sun, we bring to you their reactions before we move to the final episode of the show.

When Life Gives You Tangerines (폭싹 속았수다) follows a rebellious girl with a dream and a boy ready to give him all to fulfil her wishes. A story of endless love, this show takes us to the 1950s. Directed by Kim Won-suk, the drama stars IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri, Park Hae-joon, Kim Tae-yeon, Lee Chun-moo, and other cast members.

The previous week brought to us episodes 9 to 12, showing us the shift in Geum-myeong’s love life while Ae-sun and Gwan-sik are left facing the worries of parenthood when their kids are falling in love. On one side there is Eun-myeong’s love story wherein he matches the actions of his father and falls easily for emotions; while on the other side, we have Geum-myeong who has her standards set because of her wonderful father. Habits and perspectives are also passed from one generation to another and this is what we see in this family as they continue to melt our hearts.

Episode 9 was all about Eun-myeong as he follows his father’s footsteps; being good to his mother and falling in love like his father. As X users write, Kids learn from the actions more then words, eunmyeong fixed his mother’s chair and bought her a heater, being around a kind considerate father who actually loves and cares about his mother definitely shaped him for good #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEp9” while another user writes, “Eumyeong: “we’re dating. it’s been 500 days.” Gwansik : “where’s the duster? you need to be beaten 500 times! Eumyeong : “LOVE ISN’T ILLEGAL!” –then Gwansik had a throwback when he recited poetry in front of Aesun LMAO #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEp9 #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines

While nostalgia for Gwan-sik’s lovesickness takes over in episode 9, episode 10 moves on to show the powerful side of parents as they protect their children without a thought. From the contrast between Ae-sun cradling her youngest son and Geum-myeong to Cheong-seob’s mother appearing on screen, the worries of a parent never end. With an X user writing, “a mother’s fear of losing another child… it’s a weight that no one should ever carry, yet it’s a constant ache in her heart, reminding her how easily everything can be taken away????????#WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines#WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEp10

But another highlight of this episode had to be Geum-myeong talking about the standards set by her father. As another X user writes, ““some men would. my father did it” geum-myeong grew up watching her dad standing up for her mom and choosing her over everyone so she’ll never settle for a man who won’t do the same as she should! #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEp10

Moving on, we have episode 11 where we see another side of parenthood where the child becomes a possession, a prize for a parent. Leading to a toxic relationship, this episode showed how such thinking can ruin a child’s life forever as we see Yoeng-beom’s fate that was ruined by his own mother. “Glad the writer showed us Yeong-bum’s fate. His mother’s hate cost him his happiness. Geum-myeong did the right thing by saving herself from a life of humiliation. #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEp11 #IU #LeeJunyoung #LeeJiEun”

And finally, episode 12 brought to us the home parents create for their children to hide in and recuperate when the world outside turns cold for them. This episode touched many hearts and we can see it through the comments of fans of the show who did not shy away from sharing their thoughts on X. A s one user shares, “as someone who lost her dad when she was a baby, it used to make me cry for being deprived of that. but as i grew, it made me wail to realize, all these years, my mom had to be both parents #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerinesEP12

With the overflowing emotions the show brings, there are many reactions that touch our hearts and make us smile as we come across the bits and pieces of the show. This new Korean drama is not only touching hearts but is bringing viewers a piece so relatable that they cannot help but find their hearts syncing with the emotions on our screens.
