What’s Releasing This Week in October 2022 (Week 3): The month of October is already Halfway Through but the movie fest has just begun. 1. Ammu- October 19th
Ammu thought marriage was a fairy tale – full of love and magic. It all changed when her cop-husband Ravi hit her for the very first time. What Ammu thought was a one-off incident turned into a never-ending cycle of abuse, trapping her and breaking her soul and spirit. Pushed to her limits, Ammu teams up with an unlikely ally to break free.
The film stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Naveen Chandra, and Simha and is written & directed by Charukesh Sekar. It will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
2. The Stranger- October 19th
A small circle of seasoned undercover cops must pose as a vast and influential criminal network to catch a murderer who has evaded conviction for eight years. The film stars Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Steve Mouzakis, Jada Alberts, Brendan Cooney and Mike Foenande. Moreover, it will be available to stream on Netflix.
3. The School for Good and Evil- October 19th
Ever wondered where the fairytale began? Well, this teen fantasy drama is the answer to it. A story of polar opposites’ best friends switched at inception, resulting in chaos and destruction. Based on the epic international best-selling series by Soman Chainani, The School for Good and Evil is directed by Paul Feig and stars Sophia Anne Caruso, Sofia Wylie, Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington. Furthermore, you can watch the film on Netflix.
4. Bros- October 19th
From the ferocious comic mind of Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, 2019’s The Lion King, Difficult People, Impeachment: American Crime Story) and the hitmaking brilliance of filmmakers Nicholas Stoller (the Neighbors films, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Judd Apatow (The King of Staten Island, Trainwreck, The Big Sick), comes Bros, a smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with.
The film will be a theatrical release.
5. Black Adam October 20th
In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed and Black Adam has gone from man to myth, to legend. Now released, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.
DC’s Black Adam will star Dwayne Jhonson in the lead role and will be a worldwide theatrical release.
6. Ginna Bhai- October 21st
Set against the backdrop of a small town, Ginna Bhai is a story of Ginna, a free-spirited tent business owner and also the head of a passionate friend circle. The film captures his life journey and his goal of achieving things in life.
The star cast of the film includes Vishnu Manchu, Sunny Leone, and Paayal Rajput. Furthermore, it will be a theatrical release.
7. 20th Century Girl- October 21st
In 1999, a teen girl keeps close tabs on a boy in school on behalf of her deeply smitten best friend – then she gets swept up in a love story of her own. The film stars Kim You-jung,Byeon Woo-seok,Park Jung-woo and will be available to stream on Netflix.
