Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 14 Recap
The pain that was hidden since the fateful day when Sang-tae and Mi-ja lost the person they loved dearly is finally out after years. While everyone begins cleaning the yard, Mi-ja looks back into the memories of the friend whom she can never forget. Elsewhere, Sam-dal tells Yong-pil that she cannot have a one-sided love with him as she wishes to properly love him.
She tells him about how she tried to stay away from everything that reminded her of him but wonders why he didn’t do the same. Yong-pil tells her that the thought of forgetting everything about her scared him more than the pain of remembering her all the time, this is why he couldn’t stop doing the things that would keep him close to her.
This leaves Sam-dal in tears as she tells him that she will no longer fear anyone and keep him close to herself because she is ready to live with the pain of going against Sang-tae, but she refuses to be away from Yong-pil. With this, the two finally get back together, unaware that another heart is breaking somewhere.

Sang-do finally accepts that there is no space for him to get in between Sam-dal and Yong-pil, and he cannot confess to Sam-dal and make her sad over his feelings. The next day, Jin-dal wakes up Sam-dal and tells her to get together with Yong-pil as soon as possible so that their mother no longer feels guilty.
She tells her about Sang-tae and Mi-ja’s confrontation the day before and how the latter has always felt the burden the breaking her relationship. Sam-dal confesses that she has already got together with Yong-pil and informs Mi-ja about the same, also asking her to not feel guilty about their pain.
Meanwhile, Yong-pil is preparing for the camping trip that was planned by him and Sam-dal. Right then, he hears voices and comes out to see Mi-ja in his kitchen with Sang-tae shouting at her. Mi-ja tells Sang-tae clearly that she is here to feed her son and he can join if he wants to.
She reminds him of the promise made between her and Mi-ja that their children will always have two mothers and she is fulfilling her duty as Yong-pil’s mother. She finally stands up against Sang-tae and makes him leave after which she tells Yong-pil to eat and leaves. Later, Yong-pil enters his father’s room and tells him to eat something as the food brought by Mi-ja has all his favourites.
He then asks him to not throw away the food before leaving for his trip. However, before they can start their trip, Sam-dal’s assistants from Seoul arrive and decide to tag along on their trip as Sam-dal tells them that it is for work. The two are annoyed by the interruption while Yong-pil is especially so because all his decoration and plans have gone in vain.
Sam-dal finally confesses that the two are dating and hopes that the two girls will let her stay in Yong-pil’s tent, but the two pull her with them and keep the couple separated. On the other hand, Jin-dal notices Dae-young come out of a cheaper hotel but does not know that this is because his father is punishing him for moving the theme park to Samdal-ri.
Elsewhere, Pan-sik gets drunk and begins fighting with Sang-tae who confesses that he has been losing his sight and memory which makes him fear that he will soon forget his wife. The next day, Yong-pil and Sam-dal leave behind her assistant and come back, only to come across Sang-tae.
Upon arriving home, Sang-tae asks Yong-pil if he has to keep seeing Sam-dal even after his continuous opposition. Yong-pil tells him that he cannot leave Sam-dal as she is to him what Bu Mi-ja was to Sang-tae. He hopes that Sang-tae can give just a little bit of the attention he has been giving to Bu Mi-ja and see how much in pain he is.
Sang-tae is dumbstruck by this and recalls the proposal he had given to his wife. Elsewhere, Hae-dal takes Ha-yul to the dolphin centre where she meets Jin-chan and discusses her mother’s condition. Jin-chan suggests she go diving with her mother to keep her safe as an alternative which makes Hae-dal think about.
On the other hand, Yong-pil finds out that his father did not go to work and that his stuff is not at home. He gets tensed for a while and remembers where he could be, he calls the temple where he goes whenever he misses Bu Mi-ja, and finds out that his father is there. He shares his worries with Sam-dal and breaks apart thinking that his father really can’t see his pain.

Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 14 Ending
The next day, Sam-dal makes her way to the temple and meets Sang-tae. He expects her to show her anger but all that Sam-dal does is talk about the past and tell him that she knows that doesn’t really hate her but the incident made him this way. She remembers that time when he dearly loved her and how it broke her heart when he changed overnight.
She tells him that she will not run away this time, instead, she will hold Yong-pil’s hand tight and wait for Sang-tae to come around. With this, she begins leaving but Sang-tae stops her and asks if she really can’t live without Yong-pil. She tells him that she has always had feelings only for Yong-pil and will have them til her last breath.
This reminds Sang-tae of the time when he said similar words to his wife and is filled with tears for the two. Elsewhere, Yong-pil reaches the temple and comes across Sam-dal. While he asks her about her meeting with his father, Sang-tae comes running to them and finally gives his approval to the two.
The epilogue shows Eun-ju getting triggered by news of Sam-dal’s upcoming exhibition and making a call to a reporter to begin another wave of problems.
Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 14 Review
Episode 14 ends another week of this show and brings the moment we had all been waiting for; Sang-tae’s approval and the Cho Couple’s ship sailing. This episode brought in a series of ups and downs but mainly focused on settling down some matters that we had been waiting for.
Along with this, we also saw the budding of a new romance, the reignition of an old love, and a new Hanyeo about to join the gang. We can see the characters soon settling down in their lives and this was sure to come as we are now moving into the last weekend of the show. We need to prepare for a heartfelt goodbye that is soon to come and also look forward to how the last trouble (Bang Eun-ju) ends.
The highlight? It has to be the way the two leads showed the emotions of their characters so clearly that we never for once doubted that they weren’t Sam-dal and Yong-pil.
Altogether, this was another beautiful episode and we now eagerly look forward to the happy ending that Sam-dal and Yong-pil are soon to welcome.
