Welcome To MY World MV brings a dreamy pre-release single from the popular K-pop girl group aespa. It comes after almost nine months of their last release titled Girls. Set to be released alongside their upcoming third mini-album titled My World, the new song gives us a glimpse into what is to come.
My World album will consist of six tracks in total Welcome To MY World (Feat. nævis) Spicy, and B-sides Salty & Sweet, Thirsty, I’m Unhappy and Till We Meet Again.
Formed by SM Entertainment, the group debuted in 2020, with the single Black Mamba and found instant success due to their unique concept. The groups consist of four members in total, namely Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning, who truly made their mark in the music scene with the viral song Next Level. From addictive beats to creative dance steps, they took over social media and music platforms completely.
The music video starts off with the members looking for something at night in the woods, but it turns out to be a vision or a dream by Winter. Coming back from it, we see all the members hanging out at a house but the visions don’t stop and we see more shots of somewhere in nature, which seems to be calling for them.
Soon the members decide to take a road trip and somehow end up at the same place as the visions. But this time, even Ningning seems to sense an aura. However, it is revealed in the second part of the video that every member was sensing, and seeing the same things. Like Giselle drew the sketch of exact woods.
Towards the end, the same scene from the intro is revealed, where the members are surrounded by glistening lights flying around them. At a distance, a strong light is seen, with the shadow of someone standing in the woods. When the camera pans closer, it is revealed to be the nævis, while the soothing melody keeps on playing in the background.
Stylistically, compared to their previous music videos, it has a casual, teen drama aesthetic. Even the members are dressed in casual outfits as compared to the flashy/futuristic ones, we have been used to seeing them in. With the release of the title track and the album, we will able to get a full perspective of the story, they want to express and what part nævis plays in all of it.
