Velma Episode 10 marks the end of the adult animated series on HBO Max. Charlie Grandy develops the show with Mindy Kaling who plays the central character as well as the executive producer. Charlie Grandy, Howard Klein and Sam Register also serve as the executive producers. It is produced by Kaling International, 3 Arts Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution.
We have Mindy Kaling as Velma Dinkley, Sam Richardson as Shaggy, Constance Wu as Daphne and Glenn Howerton as Fred Jones. Alongside them we have Russell Peters as Aman Dinkley, Melissa Fumero as Sophie, Sarayu Blue as Diya Dinkley, Jane Lynch as Donna Blake, Wanda Sykes as Linda Blake, Cherry Jones as Victoria Jones, Frank Welker as William Jones, Nicole Byer as Blythe Rogers, Gary Cole as Lamont Rogers, Stephen Root as Sheriff Cogburn, Fortune Feimster as Olive, Yvonne Orji as Gigi, Ming-Na Wen as Carroll, Shay Mitchell as Brenda, Debby Ryan as Krista, Karl-Anthony Towns as Jacques Beau and others.
The tenth episode is called ‘The Brains of the Operation’. It is directed by Gina Gress and written by Charlie Grandy. The is 25-30 minutes long and marks the finale of the show.
Velma Ending Explained
Although episode nine ended with the murderer being revealed as Diya Dinkley, the gang was determined that the real murderer is someone else completely. By this time, we also see Diya completely recovering and her memories coming back and she faces the reality. Towards the end of the tenth episode, it was finally revealed who was behind it all.
When Velma arrives at Fred’s residence towards the end of the tenth episode, she finds both Fred and Daphne tied together in Perdue’s lab. By this time, our titular character has figured out that Victoria Jones, Fred’s mother is the killer through a pocket watch used to hypnotize Diya into confessing that she is the killer. The pocket watch happened to have the logo of the Jones’ company. Thus, when arriving to rescue Daphne and Fred, Velma is stopped by Victoria.
With a final fight taking place, we see Norville’s accidental arrival at the scene aiding Velma’s defence and killing Victoria inevitably. It is, of course, revealed that Victoria’s intention was to recreate Dr. Perdue’s work. She wanted to switch her son, Fred’s brain to a more competent one, so that he can become the expected proper heir to their famous family and the company it runs.
The episode ends with the case being solved but, the gang not sticking together at the end and drifting apart. However, there appears to be a mid-credits scene where it is revealed that a new killer is on the loose and has murdered Sheriff Cogburn.
