Vampire Academy Episode 6: Molinija

Vampire Academy Episode 5 left us with a lot to deal with. We saw Lissa finally coming to terms with understanding that she is a spirit user much like St. Vladimir and, on the other hand, Mikhail turned into a Strigoi and was ultimately killed by Rose. The tone of the fifth episode shifted from being YA to an emotional drama and this time around it has turned into a powerful, political tale.

In Vampire Academy Episode 6, we see how Rose is struggling to deal with the death of Mikhail and, moreover the fact that she was the one who killed him in the first place. The episode starts with Rose preparing to get her Molinija mark- the highest level of honour a Dhampir guardian can receive which is offered only when a guardian kills a Strigoi. As much as Rose has always looked forward to this day, on the day she is scheduled to receive the mark, she cannot bear to.

Throughout the episode, we see Rose struggle with the reality of Mikhail’s death and seek out ways to deal with it, one of which includes reaching out to Mikhail’s family to ask for their forgiveness. Lissa, on the other hand, has powerful information that she is a spirit user. She is still not away that Sonya Karp too is a fellow spirit user but, knows that St. Vladimir was one.

Now, she is scheduled to go on a Royal Tour and also achieve a quorum at the council, for the latter she chooses Jesse Zeklos to be her potential future match and the ultimate instrument to help her get into the council. But, apart from all of the above, going on the royal tour is Lissa’s last chance to discover more about her magic- spirit from a guy named Ivashov.

Vampire Academy Episode 6 also focuses on the relationships that have always piqued our interest in the show. Rose and Dimitri’s fans are surely in for an amazing treat because by the end of the episode there is a much-awaited surprise that will make everyone’s hearts flutter. As for Lissa and Christian, it seems like we need to give the duo some more time to figure out where they stand. Mia is a pleasant surprise in this episode, doing a complete 360-degree turn from being a bitch to being a sweetheart you’d like to root for in future episodes.

Vampire Academy Episode 6: Final Thoughts

As much as the show is trying to do its best by giving a new twist to the story we have all read, it is in Vampire Academy Episode 6 that it seriously feels like too much is happening in too little time. The rush, the improper editing and the loopholes of certain moments will get to you irrespective of the fact that the show is really doing an amazing job of keeping us hooked with elements of fantasy, romance and politics.
