Andor Episode 4 Review: Aldhani
The fourth episode of Andor is directed by Susanna White and written by Dan Gilroy and marks the embankment of Cassian on his first rebellion journey, resultantly so. In the last three episodes that premiered together, we not only got to know Cassian before the events of Rouge One but, also witnessed some pretty glaring battle scenes. In comparison, this episode is toned down and strategic in nature, taking us through the inner works of the rebellion against the empire and how they are working together.
After the events of the last episode which ended with Cassian escaping with Luthen Rael, we see the duo reach Aldhani this time. Prior to this, Luthen has already offered Cassian a chance to join the rebellion to which our protagonist has been reluctant. However, in this episode, Cassian has no choice but to agree to Luthen’s offer as he is his mode of transportation and also, provides some really strong arguments against the Empire as well as a monetary deal.
On reaching Aldhani which is where a small group of rebels operate, Cassian is told about the mission to attack a local Imperial garrison. He changes his looks, takes on a new name- Clem and meets the leader of the rebel group, Vel Sartha. Throughout the episode, Cassian adjusts to the group which isn’t happy to have him at the last minute and understands the plan on how the group is formulating its attack.

At the higher Imperial level, we see the involvement of Luthen with influential people and meet the senate member Mon Mothma, who is an ally in the higher grounds of the rebellion. But, as the planning hatches at various places to take action against the Imperial Rule, it is Lieutenant Dedra Meero who grows suspicious of the stolen goods that took place at Ferrix. Her concerns are legit but, it is highly questionable if her superiors will take her views into consideration.
Andor Episode 4 Ending
Towards the end of Andor Episode 4, we see Cassian, now Clem, learning in detail about the plan Vel and her group her going to execute. It is a suicide mission according to Andor but, when asked if he wants to be fully into the mission, he agrees to it. Meanwhile, Meero is dismissed by her superiors but, her curiosity on the matter surely hasn’t left her bones.
Andor Episode 4: Final Thoughts
Andor Episode 4 has turned the show into a running commentary on totalitarian government and how hierarchy affects people. It gives various notes on how the Empire has kept people in fear and we also discover some unknown facts about Cassian. The episode is excellently mapped when it comes to how a narcissistic government turns a blind eye to real threats and only focuses on the topics that displease it.

The episode also introduces us to a bunch of new and interesting characters as it introduces us to the new place, Aldhani. It is an episode of strategic understanding and gives us a broader yet intricate look at the workings of the Empire and the rebellion.
