Under the Queen’s Umbrella (슈룹) is a historical Korean drama series directed by Kim Hyung-shik, and stars Kim Hye-soo as Queen Im Hwa-ryeong, Kim Hae-sook as Queen Dowager, and Choi Won-young as King Lee-ho. Others joining the show include Moon Sang-min as Grand Prince Sung-nam, Bae In-hyuk as Crown Prince, Yoo Seon-ho as Grand Prince Gye-seong, and Kang Chan-hee as Prince Ui-seong alongside other cast members.
Envisioning the position taken on by the women residing in the Joseon era, this Korean drama will take us through the struggles and challenges faced by them, especially when concerned with the questions of the throne. While the kings are often seen taking the lead in most kingdoms, women are left behind to cater to their needs or pay attention to the upbringing of their potential future heirs.
The series takes on tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 09.10 PM timeslot previously occupied by Little Women.

Following the events of the previous episode, the palace is no longer safe for Queen Hwa-ryeong’s side of the family. The King warns Seong-nam that he could be killed for what he has done while Hwa-ryeong probes into the mystery of the Crown Prince’s murder. Chief Councilor will take a step further in his train of hatred and ask the King to depose Queen Hwa-ryeong while Prince Bo-geum pleads his case with Queen Dowager.

After the Crown Prince’s demise, the entire kingdom is sunk in a state of mourning but following the promise made to her son, Queen Hwa-ryeong stood her ground and guided the Grand Princes while protecting the Crown Princess and her grandson. Chief Councilor Won-hyeong began his interrogation to further the notion of ‘taekhyeon’ by dragging the Queen into the mess. At the same time, it gets messier for Hwa-ryeong as Queen Dowager finds out all about her secret meetings with Queen Yoon. In the background, the princes also clashed heads with each other with Bo-geum left disheartened about the lack of royal ties supporting him as the next potential Crown Prince.
