Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 10 Reactions: Fans Just Can’t Stop Calling Hwa-ryeong ‘the Best Queen Ever’

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 10 follows suit in setting the trend by again handing over more evidence to praise Kim Hye-soo’s Queen Hwa-ryeong and Moon Sang-min’s Seong-nam. It’s almost become a weekend ritual for Twitter to be flooded with praises being sung for these two characters.

However, that’s not all the show’s loyal fans had to say after last night’s episode. Many are charting sympathetic messages for Grand Prince Gye-seong (Yoo Seon-ho), who had to be pulled out of the contest to save his skin. Regardless of what may have happened, the audience applauds his brilliance, intellect, and selflessness in discovering Seo Ham-deok’s traitorous plans against the King despite being attacked.

We already know that Hwa-ryeong’s love knows no bounds when it comes to her sons, but this episode also proves that literally, everyone (except the season baddies) is “under her umbrella”. The viewers have been calling her the best mother since the beginning. On top of that, all these acts of her protecting people in need make her “the best queen ever” too. No one can replace her, irrespective of the numerous conspiracies seeking to bring her parade down.

Except for her kind disposition, the fans can’t stop raving about her prowess in fighting back against all odds either. Consort Hwang almost had her this time by exposing Gye-seong’s truth, but the Queen knew just how to respond to that attack and punish her.

The audience also noticed the outstanding performances of Kang Chan-hee (also Chani of SF9) and Ok Ja-yeon. They play the villainous son-mother duo Prince Ui-seong and Consort Hwang, respectively. A show like this can’t achieve its potential until the antagonists are convincing enough, so much so that the viewers start loving to hate them. This power duo and Kim Hae-sook’s Queen Dowager know how to reel in powerful responses.

Now that the competition is entering its last phase, Seong-nam lovers are holding on to their breaths and hoping for the best. While they believe in his strengths as a probable future Crown Prince, some troubling doubts still arise due to the slippery nature of events planning to bring him down. Prince Bo-geum (Kim Min-ki) is yet another desirable candidate as the future Crown Prince, and the audience also seems to be rooting for him and his wisdom streak. They’re even willing to let him take the crown if not for Seong-nam.
