TWS Countdown MV Review:A Message for When Facing the Uncertain Future!

On April 21st, 2025, the South Korean boy band TWS Countdown MV was released, serving as the title track to their third mini album TRY WITH US. With a message to take bold steps towards the future even when uncertain of what lies ahead, this track is filled with the band’s youthful energy and their signature story-telling style that we love. The song holds hints that deliver the message while the lyrics bring out the emotions and sway the audience.

The band debuted earlier this year on 22 January 2024 and has released multiple projects within one year. TWS is a six member group and consists of members- Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin. TRY WITH US is the band’s third mini album and consists of tracks- Lucky to be Loved, Countdown! (마음 따라 뛰는 건 멋지지 않아?), Random Play, Freestyle, Now Playing, and Go Back.

Countdown is the title track of their latest mini album and brings us the transitional period of their youth as they spread the message of going forward irrespective of what lies ahead. The music video holds together scenes that support the themes of the song while highlighting the youthful vibe of the band. There’s a lot more happening in the music video and we are going to look at them all in the review!

TWS Countdown MV Review

TWS never fails to bring out some of the best songs and they are once again proving why they are so well-known among the new K-pop groups. This song begins with a nostalgic melody that moves on to building up an emotional climax that reflects the inner turmoil and the hope that one finds in their twenties. Capturing the emotions of youth, this song delivers the bold message of moving forward despite the uncertainties ahead. No matter what may come, keep moving forward.

And this takes us to the lyrics of the song which they members themselves have said to focus on so that you really feel the emotions of your youth. We have all felt this way back then and you will find yourselves being hit with nostalgia as the song brings back memories while also comforting your heart. I love the youthful energy that this band gets for the audience with every song that doesn’t just resonate with them but also takes them back to a time that was precious to us all.

Moving on, we have to talk about the creative music video which holds so many hints supporting the theme of the song. The band members are seen wandering through the city with no destination in mind, and this is symbolic of the uncertain journey that lies ahead of many in their youth. You see them continuously walking along the streets despite having no goal which once again brings out their message of never stopping and moving forward at all times. And if this isn’t enough, then the music video also brings back the themes of friendship, self-discovery and more as has been done by the group previously.

Altogether, this song has marked a great comeback for the group and I am already loving the vibe of their latest album. I love how their songs always have something more hidden within them which keeps me excited for their new projects. With this, I am excited to listen to the rest of the songs in this album and hope to see more intriguing projects from the group in the future.
