Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle Episode 5 Review

In the fifth episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, things get hot and heavy as the guests, Karan Johar and Jahnvi Kapoor, open up about romance, paps and gender bias in the industry. The episode is entertaining because both Johar and Kapoor do a good job of not putting their feet in their mouths, but it made me wonder what’s meant to be entertaining at this point.

First and foremost, I think some of the discussions in this episode had some depth. Kapoor and Johar discuss their own struggles with body image issues somewhat candidly, which will make you take note of their struggles in that sense. However, the extent to which these sequences are scripted will leave you to wonder whether or not anything is truly honest these days.

I think the discussions in this episode were more politically correct and were given more time to be explored by the guests and not just by the hosts. I will give both of them props for at least addressing some of the rumours that come their way, especially the problems surrounding women having a say in a mostly sexist workplace. I think that makes for a relatable watch, but the humour in the episode is non-existent, and the conversation surrounding Boney Kapoor is starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Moreover, the hosts are so loud and abrasive that they don’t let the guests speak. While I get that being “quirky” is their thing, I think it’s imperative to let the guests speak in a talk show, which this show sorely misses out on. As a result, you listen to the four people constantly talking over each other and becoming chaotic for no reason.

In the end, this isn’t the worst episode and thankfully isn’t uncomfortable, but I am starting to wonder the point of it all because we keep watching the same stories being told over and over again.

Final Thoughts

Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle Episode 5 is fine because at least the guests and hosts don’t bring forth problematic opinions. However, is that really the only indicator of a good episode? At this point, maybe. The bar, in fact, is in hell!
