The new episode starts with a brief look into the life of Yi-chan. He lived an extremely carefree life and did not care about school or academics. However, after he falls in love with Se-kyung he is filled with determination to win her over and become her boyfriend. But Se-kyung gave him a challenge and only after that will she think about him as a possible prospect. She told him that he had to form a band and play Nirvana’s Come as You Are solo on stage.

Yi-chan instantly started to search for other band members and decided to recruit a few seniors who were good musicians. But they did not have a guitarist which halted the band’s practice. He asked a guitarist from a popular band to play as a guest guitarist in the band for the festival and he agreed. When Yi-chan goes to meet him, he mistakes the famous guitarist with Eun-gyeol. When he makes them meet the other members they instantly realise that he is a fraud.

The mission to form a band again falls apart. Moreover, Eun-gyeol is left with no money and no place to stay. He manages to find some petty cash and eats his dinner. Since he did not have a place he had to sleep under a bridge amongst the homeless people. The musical instruments shop owner calls him again and asks him to find the purpose of the trip to return back to his old life. Eun-gyeol realises that he does not know much about his parents and tries to find out more.

On the other hand, Cheong-ah and Se-kyung get closer to each other. Although Cheong-ah cannot speak or hear, they communicate through handwritten notes. Se-kyung finds out that Cheong-ah loves a particular band so she manages to get her a VIP ticket the next day. However, Ceong-ah gets bullied by her fellow classmate who steals her painting idea and submits it for a competition.

Yi-chan sets out to find new musicians for his band but Eun-gyeol appears again and tries to befriend him. Yi-chan tries to run away from him as far as possible since he lied to him about his identity. Yi-chan enters a different section of the school, as he runs and encounters another foe who is after him. As he was hiding for him he entered a secret room where Cheong-ah was also sitting inside it.

Twinkling Watermelon Episode 3 Review: Final Thoughts

The new episode is a fun watch but does not progress much in terms of plot. The story seems to be going on a loop and it is only the third episode. A few instances are being dragged out needlessly to fill in the time slot. Moreover, the added jokes and puns are rather cringey than funny most of the time. The plot is extremely predictable and the audience can easily predict how the plot will progress next.
