The K-drama Twinkling Watermelon or Sparkling Watermelon (반짝이는 워터멜론) is directed by Son Jong-hyun and written by Jin Soo-Wan. Ryeoun, Choi Hyun-wook, Seol In-ah and Shin Eun-soo will be appearing in the lead roles for the show. The show is expected to have a total of 16 episodes with a runtime of approximately 60 minutes each.

A 15.6 billion won production and supply agreement for the show was signed by production companies Pan Entertainment and Studio Dragon on September 5, 2023. The show takes over tvN’s Monday & Tuesday 8:50 time slot previously occupied by My Lovely Liar.

Sparkling Watermelon episode 13 starts with Eun-gyeol and Eun-yoo arriving at her house from the airport. As he was about to help her with the luggage, he saw a different name tag on the suitcase which left him with suspicions. Moreover, inside the house, Eun-yoo accidentally drops an airpod on the ground, which further creates doubt inside Eun-gyeol’s mind.
The next day Eun-yoo meets Yi-chan and apologises to him for leaving the festival early without giving him an answer. However, he says that he knew she would choose Eun-gyeol before she confessed. They both kept their past and differences aside and started to maintain a friendship.
Meanwhile, the principal calls the band in the office. They were scared that he found out about the fight that took place but the principal said something else. He asks them to participate in a national music competition. But the bands need to sing their original songs at the contest and they did not write a song as a band yet.
The band plans on making a song of their own and they have only a month to do so. So, they all plan to go on a music camp trip which will help them with their composition. Eun-gyeol gets a chance to talk to Yi-chan and shares with him about his new relationship with Se-kyung. Yi-chan accepts his apology and they both start to be good friends again.
Yi-chan sees Cheong-ah on the road and follows her around to apologise to her. He follows her to the painting class where she goes every day. However, when she is about to go home, a couple of boys start to harass her and Yi-chan comes to her rescue. But they start to insult her and things escalate quickly which leads them all to jail. Yi-chan’s grandmother arrives at the police station to bail him out.
Yi-chan faxes Cheong-ah the next day as Eun-gyeol and asks her to come to the rehearsal room. When she reaches there, he confesses his feelings to her by writing them out on paper. She accepts his apology and they both embrace each other. Eun-gyeol also arrives at the right time and watches his parents falling in love.
The band along with Se-kyung and Cheong-ah join the band to the music camp. Both the couples reveal to the other members that they are now officially in a relationship. However, inside the train, both Eun-yoo and Eun-gyeol receive phone calls from their handler and he says that their trip has come to an end and they will be sent back to 2023 soon. Both of them see each other with their phones in their hands and are left confused about the situation.

The new episode contains every element that is expected out of it. From romance to suspenseful scenes, the plot develops consistently. Moreover, there has been a considerable amount of character growth which makes them more relatable and likeable to the audience, creating an instant connection. Ending the episode on a cliffhanger creates more enthusiasm among the fans, leading to more discussions and theories.
