Twelve Ending Explained
The series opens with the audience learning about Tae-san and the other angels, who live on earth without any powers and work as debt collectors. Although their job is to care for humans, Tae-san is not keen on taking on this mammoth of a task due to some past problems. Although it is not initially disclosed, it’s clear that there is some bad blood there.
However, things get complicated when the mysterious evil spirit, O-gwi, is brought back from hell by Sa-min, whom the angels had thought to be dead before. He was a high priest when Tae-san and the other angels still had their powers, and it’s implied that a dangerous fight resulted in O-gwi being banished to hell and Sa-min presumed dead.

What is the incident that resulted in O-gwi being banished?
In episode 7, we learn that O-gwi and Mirr were in love with one another millennia ago, but their relationship was frowned upon because he was human and she was an angel. However, O-gwi wanted to pray to God to get powers and finally be a part of Mirr’s family, just like Ma-rok, but after days of trying, God refused to answer his prayers.
Sa-min, who was looking for someone to take advantage of and was rising in power, saw his vulnerability and took advantage of it, giving him evil powers. This, of course, resulted in the angels going against O-gwi, including Mirr, who was completely fine with being in a relationship with a human.
His decision resulted in Ma-rok banishing and trapping him in hell, although Tae-san wanted to kill him.

Why does Sa-min want the powers?
Much like every other good antagonist, Sa-min is simply power hungry and wants all the evil powers in his hands to destroy humanity. However, he was previously unsuccessful, thanks to Tae-san, who stopped him just in time.
In the present, he acquires Hae-tae’s powers and Mirr’s soul and becomes almost invincible, controlling humans and causing chaos.
What happened to Hae-tae?

Once one of Tae-san’s most loved members, Tae-tae came to the angels as a young boy with a lot of powers. However, as Sa-min and O-gwi rose to power and started to cause chaos, they corrupted Hae-tae and used him to fight against the angels. In a devastating turn of events, he eventually killed Han-u, Master R, Yang-mi and Dal-gi, much to Tae-san’s despair, who eventually killed Hae-tae and sealed all of their powers, along with the evil.

How does Tae-san stop Sa-min?
In episode 8, after Sa-min kills O-gwi, who was trying to save Mirr and Tae-san, and the latter, overcome with anger, fights against Sa-min ending in him ending his life.

What happens to O-gwi? Do Mirr and O-gwi get back together?
In the end, O-gwi is shown to have died at Sa-min’s hand, and so the two don’t get back together. However, the last scene showcases evil coming back to haunt the angels once more and O-gwi’s heart beating. So does that mean he’s not dead yet and will be coming back to get vengeance?
